Title: 5154 Darksters Truck
Post by: Playmofool on October 25, 2011, 14:49:35
The truck is quite solid after assembly as well.

The cockpit is the same color as the glider one (shaded transparent). The two figures sit next to each other.

The container can be put to the ground (or loaded into the Darksters Base).

The container is locked while driving and will open to reveal a crystal+battery-powered "K.O."-gun that works with inrfa-red light.

The gun can be mounted on top of the battery box OR it can be attached next to the box so the container can still be closed.

The co-pilot looks quite well-armoured  with the breast plate and shoulder protection.

Oops, sorry  :-\ , just deleted the pic of the female pilot (a real cutie). I'll post another one soon.

All tools/weapons in this set can be connected with the red and black "tubes" that come with every new space set. If you look you can see the places where the rubber tubes will fit. This is a nice variant and the tools look much more "efficient" if you do so.  :yup:

The "linking device" to attach another vehicle to this truck (the red one in the last picture) can swivel in its place so you can "make it disappear" under the truck or "make it ready" to hook up some kind of "trailer". Hmm, but there IS no trailer in this series?? Maybe a DS-set next May. That would be great  :yippee:

How does the container on the truck become level when in transport mode? It looks like the bed of the truck is slanted and there is some kind of mechanism in the middle.

Yes, there is a joint that will tilt and there's the sliding element. The container "locks" onto the vehicle when it is slowly pressed towards the front. The you can lock it using the red "turning knob" to keep it from opening while driving as well.

Here's the more detailed process of loading the container onto the truck.

And here's the lady - fully armed or "tooled" ;D

That's about it for this vehicle.

I agree  :). I think that there should be some kind of clips to hold down the tubes so they don't stick out so much  :!:.

Not that I like going against the grain per se, but I think this theme is unbelievably boring: it's a bit like Construction ... but in Space.  ::) ::) ::) Where are the people-devouring aliens, for eg?

I quite like the 5150, but piece for piece, each set within these theme is a bit too expensive for my pockets.
