Scooby Ghosts & Villains #1 The Castle Ghost
« on: June 09, 2020, 20:59:11 »
Per Graham's request, I've compiled pictures of all the Scooby-Doo ghosts & their undisguised counterparts. First up is the Ghost from 70287. He is featured in the episode Hassle in the Castle.

The Castle Ghost is revealed to be Bluestone the Great, an "ex-magician that's wanted in six states." He used a projector to make himself appear ghostly.

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #2 The Black Knight
« Reply #1 on: June 09, 2020, 21:45:32 »
The Black Knight makes his appearance in the episode What a Knight for a Knight.

The villain is the art curator of the museum where the Black Knight is on display, Mr. Winkles.

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #3 The Ghost Diver
« Reply #2 on: June 09, 2020, 22:55:55 »
The mystery of the Ghost Diver's identity is from A Clue for Scooby-Doo.

Shaggy uses a piece of seaweed as a faux beard to reveal that the Ghost Diver is none other than Captain Cutler, who faked his own demise then pretended to be a ghost.

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #4 The Caretaker
« Reply #3 on: June 10, 2020, 00:37:13 »
The Caretaker is actually named the "Miner 49er" in this episode, Mine Your Own Business.

The Miner 49er turned out to be Hank, the caretaker of the Gold City Guest Ranch; his plot was to scare away the guests so he could gain control of the property & its gold mine.

Thanks Jim! Great work!
Those ghosts featured in episodes 3, 1, 2 and 4 respectively of Series 1, according to Wikipedia.
It's good to see the Geobra designers tried to keep to the original ghosts and the characters behind (or inside) them.
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #5 The Indian Doctor
« Reply #5 on: June 10, 2020, 13:59:04 »
In this episode, Scooby & the gang break up a dognapping ring headed by the Indian Doctor: Decoy for a Dognapper. This is perhaps the most disappointing transition from cartoon to PM figure; the Indian Doctor is clearly missing two key elements - the mane of white hair & the black horns, both of which would have added greatly to the figure. (The horns are there, but in miniature form & printed on the sticker.)

The Indian Doctor is Buck Masters, a dog owner who wanted to eliminate the competition for an upcoming dog pageant by dognapping the other entries.

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #6 The Ghost Clown
« Reply #6 on: June 10, 2020, 14:27:49 »
The Ghost Clown was featured in Bedlam in the Big Top. The clown's face is blue in the cartoon, which would have been a nice touch if PM had used it.

The Ghost Clown is Harry the Hypnotist, an ex-circus performer who sought revenge for being fired & sent to prison.

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #7 Carlotta
Carlotta the Gypsy is just one of several ghosts in A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts.

Carlotta & the other ghosts in this episode were actually Big Bob Oakley, alias the Actor (yes, Carlotta was in drag), a"master of disguises & wanted in seven states." His plan was to scare people away from the castle & claim the hidden jewels.

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #8 The Space Kook
« Reply #8 on: June 10, 2020, 15:26:11 »
The Space Kook is seen in an episode appropriately titled Spooky Space Kook.

Harry Bascomb's clever plan was to scare people off of the farm's property, which he would purchase at a bargain then sell to the Air Force for a huge profit.

Scooby Ghosts & Villains #9 The Snow Ghost
« Reply #9 on: June 10, 2020, 16:09:23 »
This episode, That's Snow Ghost, is a rather not-so-subtle parody of the film, The Maltese Falcon. In this case, the PM figure is much more interesting than the cartoon version.

There are two villains in this story, the Messrs. Greenway & Leech, very clearly based on Sydney Greenstreet & Peter Lorre, two of the stars in The Maltese Falcon. Mr Greenway is the Snow Ghost, with Leech his assistant in a jewel smuggling caper.
