Pirates of the Caribbean: H.M.S. Interceptor VS. The BLACK PEARL at dusk

All is calm...too calm.  The H.M.S. Interceptor, commandeered, as it were, by a pirate crew fresh out of the free pirate port of Tortuga, sails unwittingly into the open sea.


Something is awry in the air.... the Interceptor's crew is on alert...something....is coming.


Unbeknownst to most onboard her, one among them carries with them a jaded pirate medallion sought after by the cursed crew of the mysterious ghost ship: The Black Pearl, which is closer than they know...

Shrouded in a ghostly mist, a cursed ship with black hull and tattered black sails emerges out of nowhere, following close behind.... It's the Black Pearl, and she's coming up on the Interceptor's stern like a shadow stalking its prey....

I had only watched the first instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean and recently purchased the trilogy as it was on offer at HMV so your pictures are definitely spot on

"It's the Pearl!  They're after us!"  "But this is the fastest ship in the Caribbean!" exclaims Elizabeth Swann.  But Anna Maria retorts, "You can tell them that after they've caught us."  Mr. Gibbs looks at Will, "She's comin up fast on our quarter, and she'll down us before ever presenting a target!"  "Then lighten the load!  Get rid of anything you can!  We're shallower on the draft; we can outrun them in those islands up ahead!"

It's no use, though, as the gallalaus type ship brings out the sweeps and gains nonetheless.  "We must turn and fight!"  So the bold crew of the Interceptor drops the starboard anchor and lets loose the ship's wheel, causing the ship to turn sharply so that their cannons face their pursuer....

Taken by suprise by the Interceptor's bold show of defense, Hector Barbosa, captain of the cursed crew of the Black Pearl orders the starboard sweeps brought up that the ship may broadside against the Interceptor and take her a prize, or send her flaming to the depths of Davey Jones' Locker....

Brilliant, and I like the subtle effects work. I am just picturing putting my Giant Black Pearl into water - it'd sink like a brick!!!

"Load the guns!" cries Will.  "But we got rid of most of everything when we tried to lighten the ship!" "then load whatever we have, anything, EVERYTHING!"

The crew scrambles to load the guns with whatever they have left on the ship.  They can't run any longer;  they must stand.... and FIGHT!
