Proof of collectors status

Hi Folks,

here´s my todays story:

Today I wanted to place an order for a member of this board at germans DS. The first order was lost somewhere in the system...

After sending the order to the DS, I received the following mail:

Sehr geehrter Herr XYZ,

vielen Dank für Ihre Nachricht.

Da Sie bereits in der Vergangenheit regelmäßig unsere Produkte und Ersatzteile
in höheren Stückzahlen erhalten haben, gehen wir davon aus, dass Sie Sammler
unserer
Spielwaren sind.

Bitte senden Sie uns als Dateianhang einige Bilder Ihrer Sammlung zu, wir
werden diese dann mit einem Sammlerhinweis in Ihrem Kundenkonto hinterlegen.

Vielen Dank.


Mit freundlichen Grüßen

PLAYMOBIL-Service-Team


Translation:

Dear Mr. XYZ,

thnak you for your mail.

Due to the fact that you have received additional sets and spare parts on a regular base in the past, we assume that you are a collector of our toys.

So please send us a couple of pictures from your collection to prove that collector status. These pictures and a hint "collector" will be added to your customer database.

I had heard on a german boards that this sometimes happens to persons which are buying on a regular base or which are buying a huge amount of spare parts.

To fulfill their requests I send them the following pics. These are showing only a small part of our collection.

Let´s see what´s happening next....

small part  :o....How large is your collection?

But I'm happy, because I'm not the only one who have tons of Playmobil, my wife thinks that I'm crazy, but not my kids  :lol:

Gladly, your Small part of the collection is already a half toystore's playmobil inventory.
If that is not proof enough.

Why do they want to know this? To check wether you do not make money out of ordering parts?

There's real concern at Playmobil headquarters about resellers on eBay and elsewhere. I don't know any details about what all is behind their concern. Fortunately the collecting community and Playmobil have come up with a solution that makes everyone happy.

SO far I have only heard of this happening with German buyers. Are people from other countries being asked the question also?

I was never asked anything of that sort from playmobil but its good to know. Thank you Rainer! Good thing I have lots of pics to send them if they ask  ;D

A few years back the lady in charge of DS Belgium asked me-very polite and friendly!-what I did with all the parts and figures I ordered.I told her I used them for dioramas and such, and I've never been asked any questions since.

My wife is crazy too.....that´s really an advantage.

She is collecting pirates....
