Title: where to look?
Post by: tonguello on May 20, 2011, 12:37:09
where can I find a part number that is not on Playmodb?

Is there an official part number list from Playmobil or something like that? ???

No, but when you call to make a parts order, if you know the set it comes from and give a detailed description of the part, sometimes they'll be nice and look it up for you, so I hear. They won't do it for a whole list, but for one or two they may.

That is true from past experience, but it also depends on how busy DS is. If you have more than 10 part numbers, you will be expected to send the list via email. That means you could have DS verbally look up the one number you don't have, & add it to your email list.

If you discover a part number that's not in PlaymoDB, let me know so I can add it in!  That's the only way I'll get numbers that aren't on the instruction sheets.

there are no part numbers that are not in playmodb!  :hmm:
what part specifically you are looking for?

my only alternative source are building instructions or as mentioned the DS help desk.
you can also try order parts by description (e.g. sword from special XX).
Sometimes they are delivered.

But as Heather pointed out: Please make them available then, best via submission to playmodb! :)

best,
socrates

I think he's referring to parts from specials or other small sets that come without instructions. No instructions means no way for us to know the part number. :( The one that's driving me crazy is there's no part number for the female ostrich.

when I wrote this topic I was refering to old western buildings, really old stuff. The sets are listed but not the parts and I was looking for something that I couldn't find (the columns from the blacksmith, I just find them in green from the drugstore I think) . I will send a ds order and try to find them that way  :)
If I get them I'll let heather know.

If a set has been discontinued for more than 4 years it is very unlikely they will have the part. Only if the part has been re-used in a more recent set is it likely to be there.
