"New" layout PICS from the 2008 Puyallup, WA trainshow
« on: October 13, 2009, 21:57:20 »
Here are some more pics that I had never posted from the Puyallup show last November.  A few different scenes and angels that I did not capture at the Lynden show a few weeks ago.  As you may notice, a few of the scenes pictured here have been changed or moved around / altered.

Beautiful displays, glazz74  :wow:! There is a lot of pain staking time & effort in every detail!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Wow That look like a huge event  :o. It even looks like you give out catalogs of Playmobil . Thanks for the new pictures it gives a great perspective as to how much is going on not only in your beautiful displays but the whole environment  :inlove:

PS: that picture of the engineer hanging on the side of the yellow engine is something special

If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Great pictures, Glazz74, especially the close-ups of the trains and engines and the workshop scenes.  My favourite is the man riding on the front of the shunter.

Thanks for the additional photos of last year's show!

It's really interesting to see the changes and additions that you've made to this year's display. It looks like you've added a lot of the new sets that may not have been available last year.

Do you think that you'll eventually have to expand the floor size of your overall display?

Thanks, I thought that you guys might want some more angles regardless of the pics being from last year.  As far as the layout goes, everthing blends together flawless now especially with the extra 32 square feet that we added for the lynden show....sounds like a lot but when it comes to Playmobil, its filled rather fast.  As much as we would love to make a neverending layout unfortunatley this will be the finall size.  100% of everything to build this layout fits into our 6 x 12 single axle cargo trailer until the next show, its a very tight fit and alot of time and planing has gone into the design and construction of the layout boards, special carts and specific storage bins to fit into this trailer and ............................Because in the end, for 2 people to set this up in just 8-12 hours everything must me efficient, fast, organized, and well planned  (we can actually have the entire set fully dissasembled and loaded into the trailer ready to depart in 3 hours).
....thus, we just dont have the time or trailer capacity to expand.
But on the brite side we have desinged 30-40% of the layout to be universally layed out in a fashion that the dioramas can be changed around with future upcoming sets in mind with no compromis to the more permanent scenes of the display.  As like you guys I am always looking at the German releases of the future.  So its nice to have a little bit of flexability.
