If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Am I mistaken (I haven’t looked recently ) but didn’t the original 5300 have no stairs and you had to buy add-on sets?

I thought if you wanted to fit all the furniture you had to put in the stairway plugs giving you more floor space

I checked the 1990 catalogue and the 5300 always have been the same (they just changed the picture in 1995 for the box). About the stairways, here's the manual.

There were no stairs included in 5301 – you could buy them separately: 7775 - Grande Mansion Staircase

It came with stairs, and you can fit everything in (more or less) with the stairs in place, but it means it can be a bit tight, especially if you wanted to put the piano in too. It really revolved around whether you wanted to have a bathroom upstairs or the study (and how dedicated you were to recreating Victorian levels of over-filled rooms!)

To be honest these are the sets I'd really like. I got most sets first time around, but there's a few gaps but bits that got lost or broken over the years. But I'm not too optimistic - surely everything would have leaked at once? My only glimmer of hope is that the yellow-dress woman from the park fence set has been for sale on eBay from Malta for years and I've never worked out why  ???

We can only hope!

The original baby was a girl. The modern one is non-binary. So you aren't quite correct about modernisation, Bolingbroke!
In the Victorian era, it was totally normal to have baby/toddler boys with longish hair and dresses. So the original is already non-binary.

It came with the stairs, but it also came with that little floor piece so that you could take out the stairs and have more space.

I think, as a child, I put the parents and the baby in the attic, usually. I'm not quite sure because I had the 5305 first, then the extra floor. I didn't have the 5300 until a few years later.

I could really use some, not yellow, fencing.

 :lol: Yes, I was going to say that, historically speaking, all babies/toddlers wore dresses (there are romantic suggestions for this, but you only need to think about the practicalities of getting a small child onto a potty before the advent of Velcro and elastic).

Thinking about it, it's quite odd that they didn't make long-skirted girls for so long

Do you know the age of that advert you posted, Macruran?
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

Someone at Amclicks discovered that the webpages for the products on the official Playmobil are already reserved! Which could indicate that the sets might go on sale before the end of the year.

I did the research myself and these are the results for the German website (links can't be opened yet, though):
https://www.playmobil.de/nostalgisches-grosses-puppenhaus/70890.html => Nostalgic big dollhouse
https://www.playmobil.de/nostalgisches-kleines-puppenhaus/70891.html => Nostalgic small dollhouse
https://www.playmobil.de/children%27s-room/70892.html => Children's room
https://www.playmobil.de/babyzimmer/70893.html => Baby room
https://www.playmobil.de/wohnzimmer/70894.html => Living room
https://www.playmobil.de/badezimmer/70895.html => Bathroom
https://www.playmobil.de/gartenterrasse/70896.html => Garden and terrace

https://www.playmobil.de/kueche/70970.html => Kitchen

Would be nice to order the sets before Christmas!
