Thanks Justindo.

I just mentioned the morion because the other one looks more like the classic archetypical conquistador helmet.

An army of these conquistadores , some old type horses and 3449 cannons  pulled by horses with the old western wagon thingies plus the jungle temples would make a fiiiiiiiine diorama ' ElDorado ' or " Aguirre'

Awesome, awesome, i want an army of 300 conquestas, but still to biuld a bigger roman and egyptian armies, bigger gauls army,  more mediaval, redcoats and of course union versus confederate armies .. so many armies i want to build ...................... :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

LOL
Good luck Giorginetto!

Justindo,
I once heard that the English used the Spanish Morion more then the Spanish did.
Whether it is true or not I am not 100% sure,
But it comes from a reliable source. :)

I wonder if the company is planning any Aztecs/Mayans/Incas or as another Spaniard for the Pirate Theme?

Wesley, the classic Maya period was long since passed when Cortes arrived. I would like Aztek and Inca playmobil very much!

Giorginetto: Cortes had only about 500 men with him. You might as wel go all the way.

Ali Baba, I don't know if Playmobil really cares about historical accuracy anymore - look at the Romans vs Egyptians, for instance (or Pirates vs Knights).

Yes, but he picked up more men eventually didn't he?
From the army that had come to arrest him. ???

That may be so, but we as collectors do care.
And even if they dont seem to,
Playmobil is still supposed to be an educational toy. :)

Wesley, I made that remark because you brought the subject of the Mayas up with regards to the conquistadors, not because playmobil did.

That right. I forgot that. His absence was the reason for la Noche Triste in Tenochtitlan, where he lost a lot of men. Do not know how much he gained from the taskforce that was sent to arrest him. So, to be accurate, he started out with 500 men.

About being historically correct: it is a toy so it is based on archetypes and clichés and there for often on widespread misconceptions. For instance: the vikings didn't have horns on their helmet, but everybody thinks they did. We have Wicky the Viking to thank for that.

I do not mind a bit of historical correctnes, but it doesn't have to be 100%.
