I'm wondering what type of battery....

I believe they use LR41 batteries.

It's arrived, & is in excellent condition, & has never been used as the battery pull-tab was still in place. The battery is quite dead, though, & the organ only makes a weak whiney sound. On the back of the package it says, "Battery not replaceable."  Oh Playmobil, why?  ???

Why would it need a pull tab if it's not replaceable?

They are replaceable. There are several videos that show how to do it, but it should be quite easy to see how to do it once you take it apart. :)

Let me know if you need any help. I have one of these somewhere and took it apart a few years ago to replace the batteries.

Thanks. As of yet, I haven't figured out how to open it! I can't find any seams indicating where it should open up. There are some open slits on the bottom, & a large round opening on the back, next to the button. Any help is appreciated!

Try inserting a small screwdriver or other suitable tool into those holes on the bottom to gently bend the plastic and remove the entire bottom piece from the box. The internal part (with the batteries) should then come out easily.

Thank you. I'll check out the videos, too, & get someone with actual eyesight to help me.

Huh I'd never seen 3626 before. That's a real charming set.
