Ok, so trains didn't sell well. Why would Playmobil bring out any more?

Why would they bring back old themes/sets if they didn't work

Sometimes some great things should just be left as history, left to die, left to fight it out between each other for survival.

A lot of us say, oh, we want this bringing back, and that bringing back.

Let them be. They have had their time, and now they are gone. If they didn't sell well, then that just makes them harder to get. We can't turn back time, as much as we all might want it.

We can't get back lost relatives or pets

The reproduction will never superceed the original

Give those old boys and girls the honour they deserve

I think a holiday train could sell quite well... but they would need to do a few things...

1 Just the Loco and a Caboose
2 No RC... just a battery compartment with an on and off switch... or "Manual Powered"
3 Sell it at Toys R US at the $100 price range... they always have a train at Christmas in the $50-$100 range... might as well be Playmo..

Now I will speak blasphemy... since the US would be the biggest market for such a Christmas train... make it in China...

With that last point in mind I would prefer if the train ended up being a regular Playmo 123 train with a cute little 123 Santa... or an "Elf sized" playmo train that was compatible with track but didn't come with any.
Someday, I will organize my stuff, I promise.

I'd prefer a new western train.. it just offers more play possibilities with train robberies and all that.

They just need to make sure to reach train enthusiasts. Arent there any hobby stores for model trains? might be good to sell the playmobil train theme there as well, and at railroad museums and such. That theres a section here specific for just trains alone speaks for itself, since no other playmobil theme has its own section.

I bet they have piles left, just open up the market to the US and give us a chance  ;D

Part of the problem there is different electrical standards and plug types.

Part of the problem there is different electrical standards and plug types.

This used to be the case, Tim, when the power source for the trains was a transformer running off mains electricity, but now the trains are battery powered and RC controlled it isn't; the buyer provides the batteries and the battery charger.
