Title: New Ladder Truck for PFD
Post by: FireChief on November 21, 2017, 20:57:09
Hello All,

I'd like to share some progress pictures of PFD's new ladder truck.

The truck still utilizes the chassis and frame from set 4820.

The new truck will be assigned to Quint 6 and will be able to function as a ladder or engine company. Features include a side mount (instead of rear) pump panel, storage for hose and ground ladders and added side compartments.

In the pictures to follow, everything that is white is styrene plastic.

It going to be a beast!

Rear ground ladder storage and aerial ladder access. The open area to the right is for large diameter hose storage.

The new ladder placement and turntable allow for further reach of the aerial ladder.

That's it for now. Painting has to wait to Ohio's weather can decide on fall or winter.

Hope you've enjoyed the pictures.

Love it Ben! I was thrilled when Playmobil finally went to 4 man cabs. Now I wish they would model off of American trucks (it would open a whole new world for them literally based on the fact that the trucks are affordable enough to customize)

Hey everyone,

Figured I would post another picture of the finished product. Decals and the ladder controls were finally added to complete the truck.

Enjoy.

Thanks, Gordon. It was the most custom styrene work that I have done but I am very pleased with the final product.

Is the picture above a tiller unit you're working on? it looks awesome.

This is some top notch work. I did not even notice before that you had built a fire station to house all your units.
