I saw one of these on a Dutch/Netherlands auction site and emailed the seller to see if he would post to the UK, but never got an answer.

no that is actually a rare one.

Just an example of what i can find here. Let alone in Germany, there's even more overthere :-)

Halleluja! I got ALL the parts that were missing from the set, FOR FREE!
Even ordered some extra parts i needed, and only had to pay for those, but did get ALL the parts at once. VERY VERY NICE!

Well i gues playmobil has solved that issue with the new rc-crane 5466 ;-)
