Customising klickies using original parts along with parts from Fi?ures

The Viking figure you got probably came with the "female" version. The "male" version generally only comes with Fi?ures figures that require it (like those that come with legs with sandals), but the "female" version works well with almost all parts.

Never noticed that, something else to look at sometime.

Welcome, xcom, to customising. Everything above is correct: Pynedor and Klickteryx explained things well. Normal heads fit onto grey inlays but, as you noticed, it is a tight fit. You need force to insert the head, and equal force to remove it. I think it's still within limits: no part gets damaged if you combine the two. Some collectors actually prefer customising figures with normal heads onto grey inlays because the resulting figure is such a very tight fit.
You'll notice that darker grey ("male") inlays are essential if you work with fat figures: they leave more space for bending legs whilst accommodating bigger bellies.
In essence, everything can be combined, as long as you've got the right inlay. Things get a whole lot more difficult once you start combining with non-inlay figures (mainly those with entirely different proportions and inner parts; in this forum they are often described as "speedos" – more debased variation has appeared recently); there, essentially, only their head will fit regular klickies and Fi?ures.
Tahra has produced a very informative paper on Klicky Anatomy: http://www.playkingdoms.com/library/anatomy/briefbodytypes.aspx Elsewhere she is showing the lighter and darker grey Fi?ures inlays alongside regular ones: http://www.playkingdoms.com/library/figures/figures.aspx All very good stuff – please have a look!

The part number for the grey "female" frame/skeleton (the one included with most of the Fi?ures figures) is 30 23 2912, and the part number for the darker grey "male" frame/skeleton (the one included with some Fi?ures figures that require a higher arched part to allow the legs to move without interference with the frame/skeleton) is 30 24 9222.

Somehow I totally missed that I’d need the 30249222 for creating fat Fi?ures, thankyou for this. I’ve even read Tara’s page many times and it didn’t click in my head!

Well... I guess I have nothing to add... ;D

I just checked the spare parts section on the website and it just says "Unfortunately, the spare part you were looking for is no longer available." for both these numbers. Do you know of a way that I can order some?
