Centaur made for German Portal member
« on: November 18, 2005, 16:38:15 »
Hi,

In another thread I mentioned that I was working on a custom for a German Playmo-Portal member based on this figure:
phantasy is in the mind, realisation is in my hands!

That's very cool!  Would you believe I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about this project?  I was looking at some old style horses the other day and wondering how you were going to reconcile the width difference.  I didn't even think to go look at the new style horses  ::)

Good job!

The width of the klicky part is also different in comparison with the new horses; I used epoxy mass to equalize that and to fill up the mid section of the horse body to make it more useful (and natural) 8-) .

I noticed that you 'filled out' the horse after I studied the pictures a bit.  You did an excellent job balancing it all out, and smoothing it out.  I can't see the transition between clay and playmo at all.

That's great Jean-Luc and a very original from your "customer".

Remarkable! :o

Considering the limitations posed by using playmo for the base, it's very similar to the original character. :)

I agree with Serenity. The quality of finish is always so high on your conversions that it's impossible to spot the 'joins'. You must have a lot of patience. 8-)

I was not completely satisfied with the texture of the hair, so I applied some grooves to it for more detail:
