Entreprise NCC-1701
« on: February 18, 2021, 09:01:47 »
It was all over THAT site...

The iberia sites (pt+es) have this mystery product (printscreens attached):

pt: https://www.playmobil.pt/enterprise-ncc-1701/70548.html

es: https://www.playmobil.es/entreprise-ncc-1701--name-tbc-with-picture--/70548.html

So, someone making fun of... us? Or someone messed up royally (again)?

For those who like me were puzzled by the potential significance of this, the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 was the original Star Trek ship that boldly went back in the 1960s...

I am not a trekkie, I googled this!
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

A wise final sentence here, Graham.

Well, not a trekkie either, but I assume MOST people know what "Enterprise" is?  I googled it too, the "model", since I believe there are several?

I don't watch those since I was a cub.

Maybe someone in the IT department used it as a place holder.
Maybe Playmobil got the Star Trek license, but I really doubt that it would be Playmobil Plus exclusive. With a license like that, you want to reach a maximum of people.

A bridge playset along the original crew in Playmobil form would be fun.

That would be excellent if true. Saw the pic on Instagram and I assume it isnt klicky scale, so that would be an odd new direction to go in. They've never made collectible items that aren't part of the playworld before. If thry have the license though maybe a bridge set or a shuttle would be possible. Agree a crew set would be great

First time round I read that last sentence as "A bridge player along the original crew...."!  Now that would be a niche set!

Amazing if it were to be true! :o
Btw, I´m nost a trekkie either and actually I would prefer a "USS Enterprise CVA(N)-65"

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!
