Title: Egg with hunter 4938 and egg with knight 4937
Post by: conniefrere on February 18, 2012, 09:52:21
When I checked playmobil.com some time ago, to check all the new sets, I noticed the egg with the hunter. The hunter isn't that great, but the animals that go along    and especially the dachshund. Those funny little, stubborn, energetic dogs. The fact that I have three cats means there's no place for a real dachshund, but the playmoversion is no problem. :D

Here the set is still in "the egg" (Did not see the fun of the egg at first, but when you buy one and think of it as a little gift for a kid)

And here the egg is open.

Now the important stuff, the contents.
A hunter kl icky, looks very cliche, then again how would he look like otherwise, little bambi and mother bambi, the dachshund, some squirrels. We have some mushrooms, a gun and a binocular. Great set, think it contains fair amount of accessories.

Pictures of the animals, I see now I forgot the little deer.  :wall:

And an overview of them all. (If someone wants more pics of some of the animals, just let me now)

And now the knight, unpacking from egg, stepp by step.

Again a set with quite some accessories. Due to the helmet and color combination this guy can join the ranks of the red dragon knights. His chainmail armor are great to, very good for customization, his legs too. A point for historical accuracy, none, his weapons are flaming swords and an accompanying axe! The red plastic is transparent, looks great in my opinion.
The holder for his swords is also where to attach his short cloak. The short cloak makes it possible to let him ride his horse, but he does not sit up straight if you push the klicky in the saddle. The cloak is somewhat to long. I find it a little annoying.

All and all a nice set.

WOW WOW WOW!!! That knight is absolutely awesome!!! Apart from the sword holders that make him look like a clockwork... knight  But the rest of him... just wow!!! I can find many uses for his parts, and most certainly for his cape! always wanted a playmobil cape like that!!!

The hunter is very nice too! Very good detail on his shirt and lots on extra accessories!!!

Thank you for these excellent pics and review, Jan!!!!

The knight is indeed good for customizing.I can see uses for the chainmail torso and his arms and armoured legs.I've ordered-and received-25 sets of the new horse armour at DS two weeks ago, and that's great looking on some of my armoured cavalry too.
Overall : I don't have any use for again a through and through "fantasy" knight, but I can sure use the parts!

Looks like they are drawing more inspiration from videogames, that knight could be from any fantasy game. Armor design looks nice, but the weapons are a bit much. I'd rather have weapons that look appropriate for a medieval setting.

Hunter is nice though, seems to come with plenty of innocent animals to shoot too. Oddly enough that set strikes me as more violent than the knight set.  ;)

Think you wont be laughing when his knocking on your door! Tell him again he looks like clock!

Well, when he and his buddies (cause I plan on buying loads of him) see my pincer he'd feel more sorry than angry

I just love fantasy knights!!! They are awesome!!!

Very nice sets. These are the German eggs for this year and will be in the US next year.
The new shield and weapons of the knight, plus that torso are all very interesting.
The baby deer is new, there's never been a spotted one before.

Would you mind taking a photo of just the baby deer next to the hunter that I could add to Animobil?

that make him look like a clockwork... knight

ROFL - that's it EXACTLY!  :P

I really like him... Though those things do look a bit silly.. worse cause they're fixed.

Love the guy's torso.

Is the cape attached the clockwork thing? From the pic, it doesn't seem to go from the neck, as it should.

The hunter will be a warden... I suppose.

These eggs are really... lame, compared to the old ones. I mean the egg itself. Though I'll keep one in each color!

Thanks for the great pics!

Yes, the cape is attached to his swordholder.

Btw you made him cry, hearing again he looks like a clock was to much! :D

:(  No no no no no... Please tell him I didn't mean it! He looks GREAT with the swords in the scabbard..

(just... tell him to avoid going about without them ;) )

(and thank you for confirming about the cape...)

Excellent reviews. Thanks! I especially love the pics with the hunter and the fawn. Although, I'm uneasy regarding his likely intentions!

No instructions with either eggs or specials, correct, Jan? I'll see what part numbers I can track down to make some inventories, then. (Stealing your figure-pictures, too.) It's good to see what the knights look like under the helmets. Thanks for the reviews!

a clockwork... knight

Last year's egged knight came in ... orange.
So make sure not to put the 2 of them together.  ;D

I would if I've had those eggs. I only bought these two.

Hey man, thanks a ton for this! I was really intrigued by this knights' two swords on his back and didn't plan on knowing how they were attached for a while! I'm not really sure about how I feel about this super-fantasy-esque knight, but he has a lot of cool features. The gorget piece is great looking, but the sword holder looks kind of strange. Are the flame swords bendable or rigid? And do they always sit in the holders in the slanted manner like they should, or can they wobble around and fall straight? Also, the short cloak doesn't seem to fit very nicely, but it looks cool from the front.

The sword don't have to be crossed into the holders. It was my mistake, now he resembles a clock apparantly . The sword can be put pointing straight downwards, and he can still drive his horse. Concerning the red part of the swords, and the axe, it is sligtly bendable, though not completely like the épéé's of some pirates.

Alright, cool! Thanks! The swords probably look better slanted instead of straight down.  :)
