Title: Beheading Children!!!
Post by: Skypurr Jr. on February 08, 2010, 17:44:17
Last summer, quite by chance, I discovered a way to take apart most klicky children pretty safely for customising - and by using pieces that were entirely playmobil!
Ladies and gentlemen, may I proudly present to you - a kid's way to take apart klicky kids!
+Step one+
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/klickypics004.jpg)
Lay the playmokid face down on a flat surface.

+Step two+
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/klickypics005.jpg)
Put a beard from one of the dwarf klickys on the back of the klicky's neck.

+Step three+
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/klickypics006.jpg)
Turn the kid face-up.

+Step four+
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/klickypics007.jpg)
Place a collared cloak from one of the adult klicky wizards or kings below where the beard connects to the neck and push down hard..........

TADAAAAA!!!

Ready for customising!

This method works for most children and is very easy, I used this technique to make my own klicky! Even Mum can do it! However, it does seem that it doesn't work for all klicky kids, especially the ones with collars and etc. Although it obviously doesn't work for adult klickys, perhaps there may be some variant of this that might work. I have known about this for a while, but kept forgetting to post it! Well, it's here know. As for a name for the technique, how about the "Junior Method" !? Happy dismembering!  >:D

That seems a very effective method Junior :wow: although unfortunately I cannot try it as I don't have any dwarf's beards.
Is there an alternative ???

This is brilliant!  And so easy that Mum can do it!     I'll have to try this.

Thanks!

Hi Skypurr Jr

That is a marvelous way to take the kids apart. I never really bothered to customize the kids but now with this easy way I may have to start. For some reason I have a lot more broken and mangled kids than I do adults  :hmm:

Thanks for sharing your long kept secret

Junior, I can't thank you enough. :wow: :wow: :wow:

Over the years I have tried and tried to disassemble a child figure, either to customise or to replace damaged limbs, heads etc with parts from other figures, and I have never managed it until today.

Your method is easy as pie and causes no damage at all to the figure. Bravo!  :*)

Ok, I'm wanting to take apart some child klickys (waaaaaay too many of the modern ones have red hair compared to adult klickys) and I don't have a dwarf beard or a collared cloak. Has anyone found any alternative parts that can be used for this method? Or is there another method that doesn't involve putting the head in a vice? (I don't have one) I've tried the twisting the rubberband around the neck method, and it hasn't worked for me. Help!  :help:

Well I do something very simple that works. You have to be strong though.
I just grab the head with 2 fingers and pull up turning the head at the same time several times.... as if the kid was saying NO. The head just comes off. So far I haven't broke any.
Other that that you can take out the legs and push the neck from the inside of the body with same tool. Be carefull not to hurt yourself! Good luck!!

Thanks, tonguello. Do you hold it by the legs or by the torso when pulling the head? Because I had a loose one that popped off easily (almost accidentally) when i held the legs and pulled the head, but some of them look like the legs will break when I try to pull it that way.

I hold them from the chest. I feel it is safer.

This is brilliant! I don't have a dwarf so I used Santa's cape and a cape from the uhm devil-child (it has a little red cape with a devil's tail) and it worked like a charm.
Thank you so much for this info!  :)

the rubber method works with child klickies too...

The rubber method only managed to pop one klicky, that first one.. After that my dad managed some more, but I don't have the strength.

Now with a fishline... ;)  And it works on kids too.. And so far it doesn't matter what they're wearing.

Try the door method. Never tried it on kids, but on adult klickies it works like a charm, and you don't have to be strong to do it or have any sort of material - except for the regular household swiveling door, of course  :hmm:.

I never heard about that one. You mean squeeze the head off using the door?

Try the door method.

I think we've discussed this before but, I think straight pliers always work. Just wrap the head with paper tissue to make sure the pliers' jaws don't bite the plastic.
Best,
Arnaud

Well, I used to do this when I was a kid, but it wasn't good for the klickys :-\ ...

I've tried them all, and so far the door method is the best - no strength required, no need for supplies, no chance of ruining the head or body of the klicky.

Easy as pie (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/cheers.gif).

It didn't use to be so easy as that ... :P
(But then ... Well, I was a kid.)

But I find the hans much easier ::)

Oh, right ... With playmo- children? ... I don't know about that. I didn't need to switch children yet 8} ... But I believe anything would be better than the door! :P

By the way, Junior's method of popping children works like a charm! Just got through popping a whole bunch of them the other night, and it couldn't be easier. Thanks for the tip junior, and thanks Elaine for the dwarf's beard!

Thanks for the info! I tried the cape(s)/beard-method and it works well for decapitating child-klickies!

Junior:
The title of this thread sounds questionable....are we all gonna get arrested for "beheading children"...????

I don't know about you, but I don't have the time to "do time" for beheading little people.  Too many PM projects on my list. We all volunteer you to take the heat for any heinous PM crimes we may commit. Be our guest, Pgal

yeah, "decapitating children" would sound better as title for this subject  ;D

Btw, I also used the rubber-band-method meanwhile and it works as well, even better on the old child-klickies.

hadoque,
I don't think that "decapitating children" sounds much better when you are standing in front of that jury! Maybe something like "head replacement" will keep us all of us out of the slammer!
Although it is so hot here today that folks are committing crimes just to get in jail where the air conditioning does work and they get fed three meals, Pgal
