Pegasus sets 5143 and 5144
« on: December 31, 2011, 17:00:45 »
These are the two first official playmobil pegasus sets - they won't be released in the US until the second half of 2012 (in August to be more precise, unless TRU brings them first) but as a fan fo the Magic Theme I just couldn't wait that long and I asked Santa to bring them from Switzerland (a friend of mine).

I'm going to start with 5144, which is the white pegasus with princess and fountain. Here's a pic of the box:

and the playing options side:

The box is very wide, I guess playmobil now makes them that size so that putting together and taking apart don’t become a pain in the neck. My first thought was: Wow this pegasus is REEEAAALLY BIG! - Will show size comparison to other animals in another picture.

What I did first was play with him, he’s so beautiful! And this is the wing mechanism. I’m not sure if this could have been made more realistic but Works perfectly to make the wings move freely.

Here’s the princess, without dress – Her torso looks very custom versatile, and I love her boots because they are horse rider boots but with a princess touch.

This is her with the dress on…the hoop skirt has this glitterish look (not very visible with the flash). This is a new tone in a hoop skirt but I wish they had made a totally different color or combination.

The parts for the fountain in this set, unlike that from 4137, doesn’t come together with system x connectors, which is really cool because it’s less time consuming...

The colors of the accesories match the rest of the stuff in the set, like the princess dress, etc.

This is the fountain put together, and the food for the pegasus. I hope this pegasus won't poop apple or carrot ice cream. ;)

Here’s the pegasus with the headdress and saddle – in my opinion these accesories make it look very Barbie-ish. I have always loved horses since I was little, and I think the horses Mattel makes for Barbies are really cool up to date, but I want this pegasus to be part of my Magic crew, which isn’t a girly thing…I think I’m going to use it in my pictures without those accesories.

Here’s the size comparison. As you can see the pegasus has the same facial/body patterns as the new horses, they’re significantly bigger though. The pegasus standing next to a klicky doesn’t really look that huge, but compared to a unicorn the latter looks super tiny! I guess they also made it this size so that girls feel they're playing with a big horse like those of Barbie, etc.

Let’s not move on to 5143, the carriage with brown pegasus.
