Playmobil at the International Toy Fair
Rasputin:
The Sky-Trails concept really reminds me of K’nex brand. K’nex had sections that were flexible for building rollercoasters.
I’m wondering if from all the years of Collectors begging for the re-release of the Japanese Playmobil roller coaster or a newly designed set, that this is what the R&D department came up with ?
Great concept direction, but in my opinion they missed the mark by a mile
The Dino track sure showed that they were thinking , but……..

Wow. Never thought I would witness the downward spiral of such a stable iconic brand I have used for modeling my modern city for over the last 30 years let alone such an iconic toy line that I never owned until my late teens. So tragic! I’ve been holding out hope the last 2-5 years and it just gets worse and worse…..terrible. This is the mirror image of Lego in the late 90’s. Except they are closer to the point of no return.

RIP, Sky Trails.
And I am shutting up. :-X
Birdie:
I have a nearly 4-y-o boy and a 9-y-o girl and I'm a huge Playmobil fan, but I can't see myself buying that Sky Trail.
I do like the hot air balloon and the ice cream truck.

This is exactly my take on it :(
Ismene:
The Sky Trail is the sort of toy that's cool to watch on display, but you dread the grandparents buying for your kids. It's massive, goes with nothing else, and looks like it was built from PVC pipes. And it feels a bit tone-deaf, as young families are living in small homes due to ever increasing housing costs.
