Hello Everyone,
I've finally gotten around to working on some custom projects again. A new heavy rescue has been in the works for a few years now (really since the new fire trucks were released) and I finally have made some progress. I really just wanted to share a picture because I'm pretty excited about how it's turned out.
So here it is...
Rescue 3 will be staffed with 3 firefighters and will respond citywide to all working fires, auto accidents with entrapment, hazmat calls and all technical rescues.
The new rig replaces Squad 3 which can be seen on this site somewhere. Rescue 3 will be placed in service when I get all of the equipment mounted.

Looks good Ben!

Your name came to mind only a few days ago and today you're back with a bang! Superb custom job!
-
Now that's a fire engine!
-
Great looking truck, and great to see you around again!
-
Thanks everyone!
A little update before I start adding the equipment.
Compartments were added to the top of the rig and the first run of decals have been applied.
And, a picture of Rescue 3 in house (had to make sure it fit) with Engine 10.

That Heavy Rescue looks great! Any in-progress photos? I assume you used the Ladder Truck body and added the storage compartments/roll up doors from the smaller Rescue Truck?
-
The chassis is made from the rescue truck front and the rear axle and fenders from a concrete mixer. The body is made from 2 rescue trucks. I've included some pictures of the build.

And paint...

Good to see you back, Baden. I was looking through some old custom threads of mine yesterday and saw your name and wondered what had happened to you (not that I've posted much in the last few years - always meaning to but...).
-
Oh boy this is going to sound crazy, a lot of you probably knew but it was me and my dad on this account, we sorta shared it, but this is Baden's son, I'm at college now and I just completely out of the blue came across the site again! Man I've missed this place, and the community! But Yea, I'm still alive, just dealing with Hurricane Harvey ATM.
-
Hope you're OK there.
-
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for the great comments!
Nice to hear from you Baden, hopefully you faired ok after Harvey.
I've attached some photos of the completed truck. There is a bit of custom equipment that I'll post about sometime but for now, here it is.
Enjoy!

Ich geb zu, ich wollte so ein Schiff ned in echt durch unsere Städte steuern müssen, aber es schaut schon klasse aus. Auch die Ausrüstung... toll geworden!
Honestly I wouldn't want having to steer an appliance like that through my hometown in real - but it's a really great looking custom. Even all that gears loaded... brillant!

It would have to bend in the middle?

Eher geteilt 8}.
Cut in halves more lilkely 8-). I prefer smaller and more menoeuvrable appliances, to be honest. Our St John Ambulance devision is getting a new control unit. Actually we're using a minvan. It's really a trifle too mini, to be honest. But the new one's going to be a lorry. Much space inside, no doubt in that. But also much space needed when e.g. driving though a queue on a motor way or in front of red traffic lights...

Very cool! I saw your video "playmobil firefighters" on youtube and I thought it was really cool. I even based one or two of my custom fire vehicles on them
