Plastic Tipis, Tepees, Teepees- Native American Tents
« on: November 20, 2022, 19:24:40 »
Whatever you call them, there have been four different Playmobil tepees in plastic (as opposed to later, fabric ones). Types 3 and 4 are pretty much identical apart from the stickers. Type 4 was a 30th Anniversary reissue (in 2004) of type 3 (first issued in 1989).

Type 1. Rigid plastic, does not fold up. 5 sides. Door reaches to the ground. No poles. Hole in the top where a piece fits to simulate the tops of 5 poles. Stickers unique to this design.

Scans of the 5 sides assembled into a composite (it is not possible to flatten this tepee without damaging it!).

Type 2 Five-sided, doorway has edge below. Flat piece assembled by joining two edges with poppers. Top has flaps over which a ring bearing 5 pole tops fits.

Type 3. Similar to type 2 but six-sided, join is down the centre of one face. Has a hexagonal base and six internal poles. Upper part of the tent has molded patterns. Unique stickers.

At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

Wallet shuddered, but I THINK we have this covered :)

Those are all beautiful, though not as "fancy" as the later types..
