I think we need to ensute that all parts are playmobil otherwise some of us will go babanas again just like that bloody part with a leaf , i spent like 5 hoiurs lookign for what it is and got so annoy in the end as its not playmobil, i think its important we put Playmobil parts only !!!!!

I have mistakenly in the past threw out parts that I was so sure were not playmobil. Then many lot purchases later the same part would resurface and I finally asked and sure enough it was playmobil. There are parts that have the same plastic and the exact same feel but really were not Playmobil. I have had broken parts also but you could not see the break and it threw me off the track as well.
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Yes! I've looked back at these old threads and thought they seemed like fun! ;D I do have a few unidentified parts lying around. If you contribute parts, can you still play the game as far as guessing on parts contributed by others, just not your own parts?

Submitting parts does not disqualify you from the Extravaganza as there should be lots of other part you will be able to earn points from.

Yes, your participation is very welcome but I will keep track of who submits what and those people can not identify their own parts. I would even go as far as docking you a point if you try.  :hehe:

SO please PM parts pictures and get those thinking caps and eye glasses ready.

Yes, I agree with Bonnie, sometimes it seems obvious because of the colour or type of plastic, but sometimes it is very hard to tell.

Elaine

I agree. when I posted that leafy thing I thought it was playmo. then we came to the conclusion it was not.

Ras one question... how would we know if someone is identifying the thing properly? I mean, when you will be posting things you will know the right answer? or should we provide proves of our identification result?

In the past Extravaganzas you needed to have either a part number or if one is not available you had to give a set # and clear description. Just saying "oh that goes to the fire truck" will not earn you a point as it is not clear as to which fire truck or what specific part it is.

Many parts I do not even know so when you post it is important. The first post with a clear description or part # get the point

I would also like to take into account different time zones. I want to announce the beginning of the contest at a time that is fair for most. I am in California = pacific time zone so I do not want to start it at a time that only some will be awake. I need to find a time when the most amount of our members will have balanced opportunities

Unfortunately I have no other unidentified parts to contribute...

Like I said perhaps you have a part that you think others will have a very hard time identifying. It does not have to be a mysterious part to you but will cause others to wonder. You just can not earn points on your own submitted parts.

I will have to take peoples words for it. If you have a part you know but want to add to the game you will have to say so. If you have a part you genuinely do not know its origins you should still be able to earn the point. But then you should have had ample time to identify it yourself so I doubt it will come up often.  ;)

Sorry it may sound a bit confusing, I tend to do that to people

I think if you submitted the part you shouldn't be able to earn points on it whether you know what it is or not. Because if you submitted it oyu have an unfair advantage in knowing what sets you own, or what it came with in a parts lot, which gives you extra hints.

As to time zones, if you get up early and post it in the morning your time, then that will be when almost everyone on the forum is awake., or soon will be.
