Title: Pegacorn?
Post by: Tiermann on August 12, 2021, 03:13:52
Hi all. just want to get some community consensus on what to call the Pegasus with a unicorn horn in the Ayuma set 70800 - Magical Energy Source (https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=70800)

I am thinking Pegacorn.
 Unigus?
Pegaunicorn?

Your thoughts? Such a thing didn't exist in Classic Mythology right?

One term in use for a cross between a pegasus and a unicorn is "unisus" - not very interesting, IMHO.  I much prefer your suggestion of "Pegacorn"   :)

I would say Pegacorn, but Winged Unicorn may be the simplest description.

Point.

But Pegacorn has a really interesting ring to it :)

Thanks for the comments so far, and thanks for that link Raven. This instance is definitely a winged horse with a horn added on and doesn't look much different from the regular adult pegasus.

I asked my nieces this a few years ago.

And they informed me that ALICORN was the correct term.

From no less of an authority than My Little Pony!

So:  gospel.  Canon.

Pterripus rhinoceros, based partly on that Wikipedia article?
