Title: .. a small but bloody battle at Knoxville Fields
Post by: Giorginetto on February 16, 2012, 23:46:11
Alas..... Only a few days after the incident at the Knoxville village with the magnificent four, things are not quieter at Knoxville Fields only a few miles away.... Around the ' Green Fields Inn' there is a lot of locomotion... A lady of the court is about to depart on fresh horse, people are talking and flirting.... and no one takes notice of our little visitor ( you will be seeing a lot of him in my stories ...) ... But thing are just about to change....

.. a small deer is looking curiously at our little visitor...

!!! Suddenly a detachment of yellow dragons mercenaries now in the service of the old Empire appear !!! and they are heading towards Knoxville Fields !!!! This unit of the merciless yellow dragons is led by the fearsome yellow dragon knights !!!!

The people are fleeing in panic leaving almost everything behind... the few soldiers outposted temporarily along with the two guards of the court lady are trying to put themselves together ... amongst them is brave captain Arimathon....

Our little visiotr whilst initially looking with awe to all these events leaves rather angry the fields as all this locomotion have spoiled his favorite part ; collecting samples .... he is leaving the area very very annoyed while the people are fleeing in panic and the few soldiers are preparing to fight the fearsome yellow dragons !!!

The dragons are approaching in a classic attack formation.....

a very eager yellow dragon jumps over the boulders...

only to meet his death as his jump allowed  one of the defending soldiers to manage  a fatal blow !!!! This certainly lifts the spirits a bit of the defenders but drive even more angry the attacking dragons...

and from another angel the  kill  !!!

The lady's bodyguards and the lightly equipped foot soldiers are easy prey for the merciless dragons

The defenders are slaughtered one after the other, an easy pray for the dragons .....

..the battle rages in favor of the dragons....

The brave defending captain falls but is not seriously wounded....

all the defenders are getting killed one by one....

and only the brave captain and a lieutenant  now remains !!!

...the yellow dragons carry on ...

Captain Arimathon  having lost his helmet previously is surrounded and received a fat blow from behind....

the yellow dragons havign killed everyone head for the villagers to continue their killing spree

Aha !!! and suddenly a group of Swan Knights  appear  from nowhere !!!! , they are not all properly equipped but they are passing in high speed the cheerful now villagers and heading towards the yellow dragons.... the swan knights have sworn an oath of no prisoners when it comes to yellow dragons.. an oath that was later taken by the entire army of Krull....

The yellow dragons are embracing themselves for the swan knights imminent attack...

One of the forward swan knights manages a fatal hit !!!

some swan knight make an advance towards the dragons.. this can be a turning point in the battle!!!

however a swan knight is killed  as the yellow dragons answer back  !!!

and a dragon knight get a fat blow on his head while a swan knight also falls down dead right next to them  !!!

The swan knights have broken through the dragons.. One of the swan knights kills violently showing no mercy a dragon soldier

and so does another one , almost cutting in half the yellow dragon...

The swan knights show no mercy as they manage quickly to turn the battle to their favor and kill easily the remaining foot dragon soldiers....

The battle rages between the horsed swan  knights who kill  the remaining dragons...

as the last of the yellow dragons fall, the villagers joyfull start to pick up the dead swan knights and they cheer the passing swan knights who are riding away fast to inform their leaders of that sneaky attack. There is a lot of unrest in the Krullian/ Empire borders as the imminent battle between the two empires approach .....

Our little visitor is very funny, a great story  ;)! I also like all of the details in the action, like the shoe lying in the midst of the action in the third-to-last picture . This really inspires me to make a story of my own in Katzenreich...

Yes, I like the little animal details, like the little piglet trying to keep up with the fleeing crowd, and the rabbits drinking the spilled.... root beer. ;)

space will determine how many klickies will participate ... i will temporarily remove the dragons and the forrest and magic BUT not the castle         .. hopefully there will be enough space for around klickies , i doubt the land gap between the armies will be more than 10cm        but thats anoteher story i guess !!!!

It would be a bit of a hassle, but if you want to make it look like there's more space between them at the start then you could set up just one army on one side of the field and take pictures of it from the far side, then later set up the other army by itself and take it's pictures from the other far side. If that makes any sense. It would increase the apparent space between them for the establishing shots. You can put just a few of the very front line just in front of the camera to add additional sense of depth.

Photo story photography isn't the same as setting up a display diorama. On a display you can see everything at once so you need to get it all in there. For a photo shoot you just need what's inside the camera frame at any given shot.
