can two 5302 dollhouses get connected ?

some one will figure out a way and if Playmobil did not design it as such, out with the saw ;)

As a newbie, I am interested in connecting two of these as well...ONCE I GET MY HANDS ON ONE!!! :'(
Can someone please explain to me why we in the US have to wait until August to get this mansion from PM for 139USD, that is unless we want to pay more than twice that much on ebay?
Are all PM products introduced a year earlier in Europe? Thanks for the insight. 8}

Pretty much, I'm afraid! :-\

I don't have this house yet (and probably I won't get it) but I could definetly say you can connect 2 or more to a C shape unit...maybe a pentagone even. :hmm:

New releases come out in Germany only, and in the rest of the world a year later, I believe.

Not entirely correct; a few small Western-European nations are regarded by Geobra as home-market and get the new releases at the same time as Germany :P

But North America is delayed. :(

wanna know as well... ???

Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg (know as "Benelux"-countries), and maybe Denmark as well. ;)

i wonder why these? playmobil sells more products in these countries?
-
It was in the Netherlands that playmobil was sold for the first time. Playmobil Notheren Europe is based in Belgium. In Belgium Playmobil is as common as Coca-cola or Mcdonalds. I don't think I know a single person who didn't have playmobil as a child. Whenever people see my collection they get all nostalgic.
I'm also interest in infos about this house! Can you use those windows in other wall pieces? Does the roof fit on other system X buildings?

It used to be a production cost thing. Geobra only wanted to pay for one mold. They would use the mold and fill the warehouse, stores and initial purchases of the first market, then they would a year later release the sets to the export market. The factory was unable to keep up with the demands of both markets with only one set of molds so they divided it up. The old molds & machines to use them were very expensive.
I too look forward to customs of this unusually shaped house.

This sounds like a great way to limit sales....too bad they did not want to meet world demand for their products because non-European sales could easily outpace those within Europe.
It would be great if they made more sets designed for other parts of the world such as China and India. Lego hit a home run with their Prince of Persia theme and does a lot of Asian sets. I saw PM's Asian zoo, which appears to be a good start. I tried ordering the red arches, but they are out. Would be nice to build a garden with them.
It is such a great product that the owners should not limit it to a small part of the world. Cheers, ;)

can two 5302 dollhouses get connected ?
Yes, in principle you can BUT you will need some additional parts (e.g. at least 2x Wall Connector 30/165) and you have to find a solution for the roof. There is no straight roof panel other than that one with the door, so you have to build two door-panels to each other (I guess this will look a little strange) and too, this means you will need an additional of such roof-panel (a total of three then). To be fair I have to say, I do not have such a house yet, but I have had this question too. And because I feel very familiar with Sys-X (guess why! (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=5760.msg135848#msg135848)), so a look in the building construction published by Geobra (http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Search-Show?cgid=Bauanleitungen) (or in English: here (http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Search-Show?cgid=Bauanleitungen)) has done the work!
That was exactly the reason why I have not bought such a house (Yes I can, because I live in Germany).
EDIT: Oh sorry I have to correct my words: As I looked the construction sheet once again I remember, that the roof problem was more critical than mentioned, cos there is NO straight roof panel (the one with the door is a corner-panel too)! So it seems very hard to connect two houses easily, well there are some possibilities but for all of them you will need more than two houses!

it's a nice house isn't it? if you compare it with the others 8-) 8-)
-
Yeah I agree it's a real nice house because the design really enable a lot more "playspace" for kids! I guess it will go on the list...but on a low priority!

Not compared to the 5300.

Not compared to the 5300.
OFFCOURSE NOT!!!!!!! NOTHING CAN BE COMPARED WITH 5300 !!!!!!!!        i meant the other modern houses ;)
-
Yes, if you count this as a modern house, which i guess it is, of course, being full of super-modern furniture, it's by far and away the best EVER!
-
The 5302 furniture definitely is modern, and some of it is attractive like the living room set. I will get this house because it should work well with much of the furniture from the Modern and Suburban houses.
Once you paint the roof and maybe the windows softer colors, it should look fine. Too bad they don't offer several color options for trim, window, door, exterior stairs and roof colors.
For the roof, we have been using Krylon Fusion Hammered Finish 2534 Brown Metallic or Gray Metallic spray pain. For the windows and doors we like Valspar satin 65082 in Summer Leaf Green. We liked both the Suburban and Modern houses with windows this color of green as well as the external stair and balcony rails. If you can spray pieces outside in the sun, it will take 2-3 coats per side and remain tacky for a day or two.
It is lots of fun decorating the exterior with plants, outdoor furniture and people relaxing in the yard. DS recently has had several styles of chaise lounge chairs, which sit there calling you to take a break....all day!
Guess we'll have to make do with just one house because of the roof configuration. Too bad!
Cheers, PGal
