In recent years there have been changes to the plastic used by Playmobil to meet health and safety legislation. A chemical had been added to the plastic was banned because of possible health effects on young children.  This has, I think, meant a change in the way the plastic of some items feels to the touch, but this does not mean that it's poorer quality.

(from what i have understand you say that in the previous plasticks used ,had a chemical added  that know it's not used right?) what did this chemical had that was not healthy? this used to be added in all playmobil products ?and figures?

:o :o :o i didn't know that when you say recent years ?from when ? ,From the late 1990s/early 2000s it was discontinued.why the previous wasn't so healthy? (from what i have understand you say that in the previous plasticks used ,had a chemical added  that know it's not used right?) The chemical isn't used any more and so the plastic is healthier. what did this chemical had that was not healthy? this used to be added in all playmobil products ?and figures?  I believe all Playmobil had the chemical in - indeed, plastic used by other toy makers did too.

Well, it’s good to see that they are concerned with the health of children.
¿Has quality and durability been effected?

It's probably too soon to say, but I expect that as there was plenty of warning that the change would have to be made that Playmobil will have done experiments and tests of different types of the new plastic, as will plastic producers.

In all playmobil sites you can check under ''info'' the Quality and Safety made in Europe! Its not in the UK site I'm afraid neither in the US...but it is available in greek in the greek playmobil website!

Loads of tests run for quality and safety withought reducing the final quality of the product!

Ok, good. I’d hate to have a repeat of 1976-198Ø GI Joes.
