Title: R.C. Square rigger
Post by: Jimbo on March 29, 2006, 20:50:31
Ahoy Playmofriends.
This is my radio controlled square  rigged sailing ship.  It is about 4 feet long, and it sailed quite well.  It is made from scratch to "playmobil' scale.  It weighed  over thirty pounds.  It need that weight in the keel to sail correctly. The cabin below deck is fully furnished for the trusty Skipper.

Anchors Aweigh,

Jim

That's very impressive, James. Have you ever thought of converting, say, the old pirate ship to radio-controll?  (There was one for sale on eBay last year.)

Very nice, I like the use of red for the sails.

Hello, Jim ...

I would love to actually see your ship ...  I'll bet it's really quite an exciting sight to see her underway !!!

All the best,
Richard

Thank you, thank you, thank you , all!

Playmofire...I think it crossed my mind to convert the Playmobil  Pirate ship to R.C.  I don't think it would sail well, and there are to many openings in the hull to take on water and sink.  It would be great in a swimming pool though.

Tiermann..."Red Sails in the Sunset"...I thought I would be different.

Captain Henry... She sailed well, she did Captain.  I am sorry that I do not have any interior pics, and I sold the ship to keep it out of the weather.  There was no room in the house.

Richard...She was beautiful under way, especially in a strong wind.  She never sunk once.  (Actually I made her so she couldn't sink!)

This looks like a real masterpiece of craftsmanship! 8-)

I also wish there were photos of the interior. Maybe you should make another one just to satisfy our curiousity, James? ;D (just kidding. ;))

It's a shame you had to sell her, but I'm sure it has brung much joy to the current owner. :)
