New circus: Circus Playmo (2022)!
« on: November 12, 2021, 20:48:45 »
As posted in another topic and on many other Playmobil forums, the second surprise for the PLUS catalogue seems to be a new circus: Circus Playmo!

Playmobil released the pictures, click them to enlarge:

Seems that set 70964 is missing: could it be the rumored rerelease of the White Elephant?!

Two comments:

- Set 70965: The torso of the circus band members is amazing!!! I must have more of them!
- Set 70967: Seems like the throat of the smallest clown is cut... :uhoh:

Someone from Amclicks picked up that rumour... I would love it to be true, but I doubt it according to the current opinion about circus animals (which is fully understandable of course). On the other hand, it seems that Playmobil finally wants our money! And they know damn well that the White Elephant is a collector's item. From that perspective it could be true, let's hope!

As it all started with the circus for me, i am glad to see this theme pop up still. So these are "Plus" sets that come in fully worked up packaging now?

I am a little underwhelmed with the "acts" though. The band and clown set are nice, but pigeon training wouldn't really draw a full tent imo :-) Also the snack stand would be much more interesting inserted in a vehicle/trailer... After all the circus is a mobile thing... speaking of which... no trailers or trucks?

Pigeon training is the magic act. It has the small box with the lid that flips over and the large box for making a klicky disappear. I picked up some of the female acrobats in a Malta lot a month or so ago. I thought they would make a great dance team or cheerleader squad.

No, unless you count in the new Fun Truck, which has really nice colours that fit with the Roncalli circus:

Circus Roncalli (9040, from 2016)

They will also release a new Special Plus in February which contains a (small) horse act:

I too would have loved more circus wagons and vehicles. It’s great to see the circus sets hit the market again. Hears hoping they re-color the gypsy (novelmore) wagon for a set later
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Even if wild animals are considered a bit taboo, they could do a set with horses maybe?

I always liked the Strongman's Trailer 3728. I've mostly resisted the Circus theme, but the band is lovely and has lots of uses. I really like the colour scheme on the magician, but I have at least 2 other magicians somewhere....

Ah, thanks - I was not aware of the rumor.. As to the animal acts, we love the sets, and have A LOT of them... though it DOES pose an issue. The hardest to sort after the drunk beermaking sect  :P

Ditto - mine only arrived now, and we were just last thu wondering where they were from...
