Hi, we have more info about new "Fi?gures"
-
??? ??? ???
I guess the post is incomplete?
-
Are you asking if anyone has information about them? If so, there's a thread here that might provide some information: http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=7580.0
-
I think extjmv owns a toy shop so hopefully they have info and are not looking for info. The info I want will help determine which one is in each of the mystery bags
-
That would be great. :)
-
oh now I get it. he owns "Demartina"? that is a spanish shop.
-
Sorry, I forgot the link:

There are some seriously cool figures there!
Thanks for the link
Damo :)
-
And the skeleton is different, allows easy unmount & mount
-
Great, thanks for the information!
-
I really like those! Thanks for sharing!
And they definitely are diverse enough that you should be able to feel the content. ;D
Otherwise we have to get the individual weight of the bags. :)

I agree with the statement that this first round is challenging. A chef with mummy legs, uncle sam torso, blue armored arms, bat wings, football helmet, guitar on his back and holding trophy in one had and a sickle in the other will be a bit odd to say the least
(http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc457/Koretsky/Figures2.jpg)
Great placement of the box on the second picture
I find it strange that Geobra is advertising this in the same way they did in the 70's. The last image shows how you can change a hat, helmet, dress, weapon, simple accessories. This was supposed to be all about changing the whole klickies body parts. Shouldn't the ring around the two figures be of all the different legs, arms, torsos and heads?
I really like all the, well most of the Klickes and will want them all. Looks like a box is 48 packs @ what $3-ish each or close to $150, ouch. I certainly do not want 4 of some of those (how many uncle sams can you use) but others I would want 8 of (football team or rock band) 8}
Thank you for the link :**:
-
I'm really excited about these! I think they're all awesome, and I want them all! What I keep wondering is, when and where are they going to be available? I wanna get my hands on some of them! Irritating, btw, that in that pic of the female ones, some of them are covered up.
-
Irritating, btw, that in that pic of the female ones, some of them are covered up.
Yes, it is!
I like several of them. Uncle Sam is a must have for me! Also, the cavewoman with baby! And the mummy! And the witch! Well, okay, I might as well get them all, for the sake of completeness.
-
I see at least 15 must-haves for me! No point in trying to list them all. I just want to collect every single one.
-
They are listed in the 2011 german catalogue. If it takes a lot of touching to feel the content I'd prefer to buy a box of each... more accessories that way...
-
I just realized they are in the blister pack section of playmobil.de. I don't know if they're actually available yet, but they're shown.
-
They will be released in July AFAIK!!
can't wait...
-
We're all going to be there in the stores pulling them out the box and prodding each one to guess what it is!
-
I'll just take the box!
-
I'll just take the box!
Yes but do we even know if in each box it contains 4 of each ? I know it should but what if each box is randomly packed in the warehouse? I do not think you will be able to order a box from playmobil as they had a 9 same item limit. I am guessing we will have to order from our Brick and Mortar shops complete boxes unless you live next to a funpark
-
I pressume these are going to be available worldwide?
-
I pressume these are going to be available worldwide?
They better be!
@Ras: Yes, I was thinking along the lines of brick and mortar stores, that is, like you say, if there 4 of each to a box. Otherwise, we can trade opened packs with eachother to get what we need.
-
we can trade opened packs with eachother to get what we need.
That's a good idea! :)
just buy boxes of them, and then swap em around, so everyone gets what ones they want
Damo :)
-
This is cool to see the new advertising pics. The figures look dull to me....dont know if it is true for some of you :'( The decor of the female klickies is just toooo much. But I will still get one full box of guys and another box of girls~~!!
-
Thx for the additional pictures! :)
On Klickywelt, someone suggested to X-ray the packages to know which klicky is inside.
So now I'm looking forward to the next cell- or I-phone; one with a miniature X-ray application. ;D
-
 There's an app for everything, isn't there? ;)
-

I would suggest to simply get the weight of each set. That might do the trick.
After all, this worked also for the spanish surprise eggs... ;D
...just be aware that everyone will think you are completely nuts scaling the new playmo bags. :P

Ya did you bring the scale into the store or something ?
-
That would definitely get you some strange looks! But I would think you'd pretty much have to. Not only do toy stores not typically have scales, but if they did, they would all be calibrated slightly differently, so it would be hard to measure with that much precision.
-
Well the obvious solution is that you buy them all and take them home to weigh there.
;D
-

;D
And then return the unwanted ones? I know people want to trade in here but there still may be the ones that are least popular. My mom and pop shop is not going to like me returning 1/2 of them each time. I was hoping the sku or some secret code, by feeling the bags something to tip us off easily and accurately . Maybe we should make a collectors contest out of this, who can ID the klickies blindfolded, drunk, late hours etc.......
-
Yes, we can all share the secrets we discover to help each other! Som may be easy to identify, like the cavewoman, I think you could feel the carrier for the baby that goes on her back. That would be pretty distinctive. And all the women with big skirts, you could feel those, though it would be hard to tell them apart from each other.
-
Well, I would bring my scale with me. :)
They look strange at me anyway, so why not acting like expected. :P

-
Only just seen this :-[
There are some great figures there - If they do come out in July and anyone has any spares of the lady with the microphone she would be great for the pop concert we plan to make for this years Kirkbean Exhibition.
I'm ahead of the game though - I've just noticed lady number 2 and found that I've already used the same parts (skirt and collar) to make a lady to send to Karim!
Elaine (http://www.anchoredbygrace.com/smileys/mgqueen.gif)
-
Great figures. They must be enabling the ability to interchange body parts too! ;)
-
i love all of them
swaping repeated ones among us sounds great
i don't doubt they'll show up on ebay out of the bags (at ridiculous prices) making it 'easier' for collectors to get them all...
-
Sorry, I forgot the link:

when i see the figures.. nice ones there.. and i see the last figure on the bottom right.. does the mask/hood will be back in the DS?
-
I don't know Mike but the hooded executioner is one I'm looking forward to purchasing.
-

me too. that uncle sam is somehow cool too

I do not think they would advertise them in any other way (and frankly I am very surprised they would even have you build them - considering the age group they are for).
As children's toys if they went around promoting the fact you can take them apart and swap parts that would lead to a whole barrel of potential problems, issues and perhaps lawsuits.

Why not just get a pair of Xray Spex? They'll be just as effective as any app.

to be honest.. when u seen the picture before, every klicky has something what others dont have. for example: the hood for the axeman, the cylinder for uncle sam etc.. u should be able to figure it out with simple touching the bag.. we will see. when they comming into the shops?
-
I saw these at Toy Fair and was told that they would bereleased worlwide at the same time.
I was told I would have them August 1 or sooner if I order them by June 1, so I'm hoping sooner :-)
-
Like someone else said, I'll be buying one box of each! :)
-
If these can be released worldwide then other things can be released worldwide instead of having to wait for a year.
-
but they are not on the US web site and all the other sets that are going to be released this year are ?

The Surprise Bag-Figures have disappeared from ALL the official websites... ???
-
The Surprise Bag-Figures have disappeared from ALL the official websites... ???
I hope it is not some stupid 'kid will choke on this' issue ::) let em choke we want those klickies >:D
-
Gosh, any way of finding out why? There are sets with numerous small parts, just like these! It is up to parental supervision. Wonder if perhaps Richard can find out why?
-
Maybe they have read on here that alot of us want to buy them by the box and pulled them to add more stock. :)
-
I really, really like some of these figures, especially the Uncle Sam. My grandmother loves all things Patriotic and I must get this one for her.
Let's hope they didn't pull these altogether and instead maybe they are going to repackage them with the klickys already assembled to avoid any safety issue that might have arisen?
-
If I remember correctly there was no official price for them mentioned, only that they would be released in june (or was it july? :eh?:)... so maybe they pulled them off untill they've decided the price at which to sell them ???
-
Maybe they will only be sold in stores, not online?
Maybe we're all just speculating?
-
Interesting point, Bonnie! ;D
Maybe if they sold them online, people would complain..."You keep sending me the same figure, it's a conspiracy". But if someone has to choose them in the store, it's their own fault for choosing the same figure twice.
-
I thought they were going to be 2 euros or was it 2 dollars. It would make sense to be in euros and do the horrid exchange rate to dollars
-
but they are not on the US web site and all the other sets that are going to be released this year are ?
I just got a new price list from my sales rep. today and these figures are on there. It looks like they will be available Agust 1 or sooner, depending on container shipping.
There are three other sets on the price list that I can't find anywhere on the web. A school bus, green recycling truck and rescue ambulance. I can provide set numbers tomorrow when I get to the shop. I'm really excited to see the school bus! Does anyone have any news on it?
-
There's a couple of threads discussing them here. There's a review of the school bus in the report and review section. However, we've all been wondering about the recycling truck, because it doesn't seem to be available at TRU, so it would be great to hear any information you have on it!
-

retail is either $2.99 or $3.99 USD, I can't remember which. I'll confirm the price when I get back down to the shop and can look at the price list...

Yes, these are made in China. Any SKU starting with a 5 is made in China. It's surprising to see this happen. The quality is definitely lower on these sets and the packaging is different. Why does Playmobil allow this? It must be an attempt to compete with lower priced toys from Mattel and Hasbro. That's my guess.
I know this is off topic, can it be moved to a new thread?

I called CS yesterday and asked why they manufactured some sets in China and that the quality was really bad, the lady said it was only for sets for mass market. ??? She said, for example those sets distributed through Target or TRU...but that most of the production will remain in Europe.
-

:hmm: We never get such sets here...
-
:omg: Did I understand correctly; the surprise-bag figures are also made in China?!
EDIT: think I got a few posts mixed up.
-
:omg: Did I understand correctly; the surprise-bag figures are also made in China?!.
Yeah, I also got this idea... from reading all that...
-
Just to clarify , I was talking about the School bus...I have no idea about the surprise bags. I hope they are not made in China!!
-
Specials are all made in Malta, so that is the most likely for the bagged sets.
-
oh my gosh how i love you all. i learn soooo much being on this site. i had NO idea about these!!!!!! i LOVE so many of them and would totally be up for swapping!!

Hi gloobey! Can you please provide us with more info about this? I think you were talking about the school bus, ambulance, and recycling truck - is that correct? I would really like to know more about how "any SKU starting with 5 is made in China." Is that for all products, just Playmobil, or what? Playmobil has said that they are not doing any more manufacturing in China, so this info would seem to contradict their claim. ???
-
I am also very curious about the "made in China" info. And, I would so be up for swapping the surprise bag contents. I have some very special Pirates I would like to make. Maaahhaahaahaahaa!
-
I've read...somewhere ;D ... that the release of the "surprise figures" is set for the 25th week of 2011.
-
Oh, that's good! You saw it on the news, right? ;)

Hold on.
Anything made in China is only as good as the company who is contracting for the service is willing to pay and want.
Manufacturers in China give you exactly what you order. If you want it made cheaply and poorly, they will give it to you that way. If you want it exceptional quality, they will give it to you that way.
Anything made in China is only as good or bad as the company who it was made for wanted it to be.

Very good point Wesley.
-
My local toyshop owner just called and asked if I wanted to order some of these. He said there are 48 per case at 2.99 each.

I do not entirely agree with this idea. A company is only capable of providing as high of a standard as the machines/staff will allow. Geobra has some of the highest quality and techniques in the process of plastic mold injection. I think I read in different places that they hold a few patents on such machines. Seeing as Geobra is in such a mood to protect its rights I would not be surprised if they were unwilling to share this info with a Chinese factory. The Chinese factories would then have to rely on their limited technology in plastic mold making. Also the trucks have screws holding them together which is a very common design in the Chinese made toys. I think that they are demonstrating their abilities which in my opinion are not worthy of the brand playmobil.
If I wanted a company that has built its empire on making low priced items it is quite hard for said company to make something of the highest quality. Think of other companies in a different context. If I hired a wine maker who only made 2-buck-chuck and then I hire them to make me something worthy of $100/bottle it just will not happen.
-
But Rasputin, It is still playmobil who ordered these trucks and they have also approved their design.
It is playmobil's fault and no one elses.
-
I just ordered a box of each from my local toyshop. I was told it would be august before they are here.
-

Yes it was Geobra that authorized the transaction but I do not agree that the Chinese can build say a Fabergé's egg just because you want them too. They are limited and their limitations seems to err on the low quality side.
-

Your profile does not say were you are. Are you in the US?

Awesome! ;D ;D ;D
-

Yes. I live in South Carolina.
-
Same as BB!
-
Yea Bonnie, BB lives about 2 hours away from me.
-
It's 11 hours for me! A friend of mine drove to Greenville on business recently.
Anyway, congrats on ordering these surprise figures! I can't wait til you get them and can report how they are packaged, as far as if it's four of each or what. I am dying to get my hands on these!
-
I'm being dangerously lazy here, rather than using the "search" function or trawling back through months of posts.
Am I correct in thinking that we aren't getting these in the UK this year?
-
I think they are making these figures because of the wild success Lego has had with its Collectibles series of minifigs. Lego is on the fourth series, and sells them as fast as it can make them. People love minifigs and klickies because they can actually play with them, and the sets never have enough people.
I collect and build Lego women and klickies of both sexes to put in houses I've built. These are wonderful products for women who want more normal looking figures for the scenes they build with Lego or Playmobil. ;)
-

The word is these are being released at the same time worldwide, in August! ;D
-
Toys R Us will be carrying those , right? I think they have the Lego ones so surely they'll have Playmobil as well.
-
I hope so!!!
-
I'm really hoping these figures are Maltese and not Chinese, as I have not been impressed with Playmobil's Chinese products.
I also agree with Rasputin. While there is definitely a range of quality with Chinese goods and much of it depends upon the specifications set by the commissioner, China just cannot make something like an MBL audio component, a Lange and Sohne watch, or a Porsche automobile, no matter what.
-

Any Playmobil SKU starting with 5 is made in China according to my sales rep. I think that Playmobil will continue to produce these cheap sets for mass market as long as people buy them. The average TRU shopper will spend $20 or less. They don't care too much where it comes from.
To clarify. The new blind bag figures appear to be NOT from China. I'm sorry if I confused anybody. I spoke to my rep. yesterday and it looks like I'll have these new figures in two weeks or so. They are being released worldwide at the same time, which is pretty awesome. A trend that I would like to see more often. I played with these at Toy Fair in February and I have to say, they are very cool.
-

So far it doesn't appeat to be the case...
-
So far it doesn't appeat to be the case...
Someone explained earlier that normally sets are released in Germany and benelux at the same time, but there is about a monthe delay between when germany has it and when the benelux countrys have it. So likely "at the same time" means the rest of us will get it with that one-month delay, rather than a whole year's wait, like we usually have.
-
The people at my local toy shop hadn't heard anything about these surprise figures! Now that has me a bit concerned about whether they will even show up in Canada.
David
-
My local toy shop, which carries a pretty big assortment of Playmobil, had also not heard of the surprise bag figures. I wonder if these will be available on the web only in the US? If so, there won't be a chance to feel the bag and/or crack the code :(. Maybe the big bookstore chains who carry the lego surprise figures will carry the Playmobil ones as well.
-
Maybe TRU will have them, they have lego minifigs at the registers.
-
I talked to my local toyshop owner and he told me late August for the surprise bags.
-
we'll get them in september.
-
I don't know if this was mentioned or talked about before, but i was told by my seller that this is a limited edition of only 210.000 bags. did someone hear this too? :(
-
never heard thet before...
-
I haven't heard about a total production quantity, but I did get shipping confirmation yesterday. Playmobil has been very good about letting me know what's coming and when. I have eight boxes shipping that will be here next week. I'll post pics when they arrive.

Eight boxes of the surprise figures? Or eight boxes of Playmo?
I think I should make a trip to Port Townsend next week!
-
No, just eight boxes of the figures! I DID receive two freight pallets full of playmo last week though :-) Top Agents, Castle, Specials and some other stuff came in. I'm building a pretty good selection, but am running out of space. I just don't have room for it all.
The figures were on backorder, that's why they shipped later than the rest of my order...

The toyshop owner near me confirmed he had ordered them and will let me know when they arrive. :yippee:

My local toyshop which has a lot of Playmo and has the Lego bags didn't know about them when I asked last week.:'(
I bought the rock star last week off ebay for James, it had been put together but pulls apart easily. :)

About a week ago, I was at my local Toys 'R' Us. On the Playmobil aisle, I saw tags on empty hooks for the Fi?ures :o. There was also a paper with stocking instructions that listed Fi?ures and Top Agents. However, when I was there three days ago, the tags had been removed and other things had been put on the hooks. There were no Fi?ures at Toys 'R' Us.
I think that the Fi?ures and Top Agents are coming, but just not as soon as Toys 'R' Us expected. I'll be checking back next weekend.
Ace :brownhair:
-
This was in my newsletter from playmobil UK the other day so I presume they are definitely being released in the UK this year.
"The new playmobil figures are available in your favourite toy shop from August!" It then goes on to explain the bags are foil and the online mixer.
Verity ;)
-
the Lego bags didn't know about them when I asked last week
Ripped out the sentence this sounds...

It's absolutely encouraged! I have whole families currently doing just that with the LEGO figures. I'll be doing a bit of it myself as I practice up and get acquainted with these new figures. I'll be posting pics on my facebook page on Monday when they arrive.
-
I got my pink case and my blue case yesterday... and was going to wait to open them... but they beat me... Pink case had 4 of each... but the Blue case had 5 Zorro's, 7 Uncle Sams ??? 3 Joggers and only 1 Rocky (boxer)... 4 of everything else... oh and I can confirm that these are in fact Maltese figures if anyone is still curious.
-
Seven uncle sams? That kind of stinks. It would be better to have seven knights and one uncle sam. At least you got some of everything, though!
-
I will probably end up turning the uncle sams into a circus band or something
-
What about Belgium? I heard nor Fun nor Bart Smit will carry them >:( >:( >:(

Baron,
The 5203 and 5204's are great fun to play with, aren't they! We finally get some pieces to mix with those 12 plain old figures in the set from US DS. It does take a lot of figures to get enough parts to make something, so let's hope that they make a lot of these little buggers.
Glad that yours arrived! Pgal
-
What about Belgium? I heard nor Fun nor Bart Smit will carry them >:( >:( >:(
I haven't seen them around here and I've been to quite a few big toystores in the last few weeks... :(
-
I''m going to check a few stores that still carry themm today. Do those codes actually work or is it mostly the feel method? :help:
-
Sorry I have not found a code that works...too bad they did not just introduce them as specials so we know what we are getting. Would save a lot of grief INHO!
I have identified over half of them by touch, but it is difficult. The easiest guys 5203 are:

This takes a lot of time, which is a waste. It would be better if the store would just cut them open, label them, and tape them up to save us time. Any takers out there? We do know that they WILL sell!!!!
These will make wonderful presents for anyone but The Grinch, and even he might smile opening one. But my relatives are going to have a very long wait!!! Pgal

What about Belgium? I heard nor Fun nor Bart Smit will carry them >:( >:( >:(
I haven't seen any around either. I asked in a shop in de "Steendam"-straat in Gent ( ;) ), and they expect them somewhere in August.
Are you sure 'Bart Smit' and 'Fun' won't carry them? Those are some of the biggest retailers... :eh?: :hissyfit:
Hopefully 'Dreamland' will have them in the assortment, otherwise we're pretty screwed... ::)

I will probably end up turning the uncle sams into a circus band or something
A barbershop quartet would be awesome. :yup:

Yup, called to both local stores in Dendermonde, they won't have the figures. :-\
Dreamland would be another option, true. 8-) I've been to Hulst last weekend, the local Intertoys shop will carry them but they had no delivery date yet, they'll phone me as soon as they have them.

Ken, I had phone/email contact with DS-Belgium today and I asked about the surprise-figures. The nice person I talked to then contacted the marketing department for further info, and replied to me that the figures would be available in Belgium "in a few weeks time and at most major shops"...
-
Popped into a local toystore today and they had the surprise bags. I bought 4 of the boys' series @ $2.99 each.
There is a printed code on the back which may indicate the figure inside. I stress MAY, this is only speculation at present. Foolishly I cut open three of the bags and poured out the contents before noting which figure was in which bag. However:
Code 14711 appears to be the Athlete with cup, becasue I got two athletes and this number was on two bags, one of which I didn't take the figure out of immediately.
Code 14811 is either the Mummy or Boxer, and
Code 15011 is either the Boxer or Mummy. Possibly.
These are just guesses, but if people can confirm that the top left printed numbers relate to the figure inside we may be spared a lot of disappointment.
The number is top left on the printed bit which is three lines of numbers, on the back of the bag above the barcode.
As for the figures themselves - The mummy is very, very cool, printed front and back. I'd like to get half a dozen. The athlete is less useful to me, but has a normal klicky face, so his head & chassis would be ideal for a character who changes clothing. The Boxer is OK, but came with two right hand gloves and no left hand glove, though the mini-catalog inside clearly shows that left-hand gloves do exist.
If Playmobil used this head & chassis arrangement for every klicky from now on I'd be happy. The chassis feels less brittle than the usual variety, and the head can be pulled out easily with two fingers now they've redesigned the neck peg.

Me too, thanks for the link. Too many threads about the same subject, the other one wasn't even on page 1 of new threads until you brought our attention to it, thanks!

I was in Germany last tuesday and checked out two toy stores there. And neither of them had any.
So now I'm looking into my options to buy them online and I've found a store which sells them for € 1,49, but the mail costs for the Netherlands are € 14,50.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Persuaded my mum to call in to toys r us on our way past yesterday just on the off chance and they had them in! I was walking to the playmobil isle and just noticed the 'playmo blue' out of the corner of my eye. They were at the end of an isle that had nothing to do with playmobil and it was quite a big display about waist height with 4 different compartments, 2 for pink bags, 2 for blue bags. If I'd had my phone with me I would have taken a picture because it was not like the ones that are meant to sit on a counter. I'm not ashamed to admit that in my excitement, I half ran to the display. ;D
We stood there for about half an hour trying to feel the ones I wanted (it's harder than you think) then sat with them on my lap all the way home then opened them. I bought 8 - most I was sure about but some I wasn't 100% sure that is was the one (such as the guitarist) and to my suprise everyone we identified was right. The only one I wanted to find and couldn't was the female highway robber...which I thought would have been easy-ish due to the sack. :hmm:
Any how here's how I found them just by feeling the packet (a couple of shop assistants laughed at me as they walked past ::))
4. Mummy-Foot bandage
6. Pizza man-Pizza tray with handles
7. Guitarist-This was tricky I thought I was feeling the guitar body but wasn't sure so it was a bit of luck.
8. Uncle Sam- Top hat
10. Guy in tracksuit- Trophy
12. Axe man- Hat/mask thingy (it flexes slightly if you squeeze it ;))
4. Singer-Microphone
8. Witch-Cape then hat
The witch is my favourite closely followed by the tattoed people although I'm going to have to get more instruments to make a believeable band.
I hope other people in the UK have been able to find them,

I'm still waiting on these and the new sets to arrive in Charlotte NC. I think the two local toy shops I visit are getting the shaft. We are almost 20 days into this month and no new playmobil yet!
-
So sorry they have not made it yet to Charlotte. You can call Science Safari in Cary at (919) 460.6051 and see if they will send you some...there were a few left when I was there Monday. Becky and Jon are really helpful there.
Hope this helps, Pgal
