Hi all, I really like the sweets themes and so had to get a set of these Everdreamerz figures. To ensure I got the chase figure Balloon Lady I went ahead and got a full case. As far as case contents go there were 4 of most figures, 2 of Balloon Lady, 2 of Mrs Bubble Gum, and 8 of Toothache. There may be some variation case to case but I suspect Mrs Bubble Gum is short packed because of the specialty parts in her set - that bubble gum ball machine.
Here are just the figures without all the accessories. I will post each figure with comments here. They can be seen at my website (http://animobil.info/figures/text/5d0863aa-figures-1411.html) as well

In the order they appear on the brochure - first up is Mrs Ice Clown
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/mrsiceclown1.jpg)
Speedo style figure with a tutu, interesting waffle cone hat. The ice cream is shiny and not the usual flat colors

Lady Nightmare

Lots to love here. Great figure with a chocolate cherry motif. The Fairy Queen hair from the Super 4 theme used here, with a little black rubber band that goes around the top of the hair. Nice concept for that. Narrow cape with collar, brown umbrella. Cherry baked goods wit the individual slice on a server piece as well.

Mrs Milkshake

Wonderful 50s Diner look to this one. Having her on a skateboard is kind of odd, but maybe fits with the Back to the Future theme this year. She would fit into any diner, but note there is a little ice cream painted on the tops of the sides of here arms under the puff sleeve. Might need to erase that off if you are using for a classic past diorama. The blender is very light pink. Ice cream is flat on this one, not the glossy type.

Mr Cookie Bear
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/cookiebear1.jpg)
We are seeing the bear suit showing up in a couple of themes this year after it's debut with that skiing set a couple of years ago. (shows up in the Scooby Doo Ghosts figures too) The brown klicky under the suit is pretty interesting too. The cookies are flashlight ends that have been printed. I get the pitcher and mug for milk to go with the cookies, but the purple bucket? They couldn't do a theme without a bucket in it I guess? They had a bunch left over from the Milka specials?
Will just note here that the charms that look like cupcakes have a thick pin on the top that fits into the bottom. This is different from the actual cupcakes top mold and so they can't be used with normal cupcake bottoms without modification.

Kimby
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/kimby1.jpg)
Kimby is a lemon themed look, and has those flashlight covers printed as lemon slices this time.Mushrooms with unique stems and tops.
On the brochure that is included with each set she is called Kimberly, on the collector card and elsewhere it is Kimby. I think auto-correct fixed their brochure for them and nobody caught it.

Karmela
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/karmela1.jpg)
Karmela is the Lime alter ego of Kimby. Similar but different in a lot of ways. Love the hair, has lime slices and the mushrooms are different base colors. I like them together as a lemon-lime duo.
-
Mr Chocolicious
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/chocolicious1.jpg)
The big belly dwarf body type in brown with stripes and colored sprinkles. Candy bars or brownies on a tray, plus doughnuts and a chocolate bar. The bar shows up in Toothache too. Ghostbusters green slime splat done here in flat brown. Chocolate on the face and bandanna, I could see that turning up in customs and dioramas at mealtimes.
-
Mr Rides
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/mrrides1.jpg)
Bubble Gum Carnival theme here, cards are typical with green backs. His hair is metallic gold - could be useful for gold statues. Keys in teal?
Bubble Gum Pink rat!! Generally I am way over the pink everything, but love this guy. Just the concept of a bubble gum rat delights me for some reason.

Mrs Bubble Gum
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/mrsbubblegum1.jpg)
From just the figure images this one excited me the least. But when you see the accessories she has the bubble gum machine. Love that piece. The top clear part comes assembled with the balls inside. The set also comes with loose balls in a bag with some of the other small parts. Directions for assembling the bubble gum machine are printed on the secondary sticker sheet. Light pink tennis racket, and interesting colored hair.
-
Mr Dentist
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/dentist1.jpg)
Way scarier than Lady Nightmare I think. Full set of dental tools, has that nice hat with the steampunk goggles on it. Clever use there. His printed mouth is just a little high to not be covered up by the face mask. The hair is the white wig with a short ponytail but done in red for him. Unexpected choice there.

Toothache
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/toothache1.jpg)
A really interesting depiction of the concept. Great printing on the figure (none on the back). Nice hair color. Comes with a pink pillow, and the sticker on the candy packet looks like some kind of rock candy.

Balloon Lady
(http://animobil.info/figures/wit-icons/balloonlady1.jpg)
The lollipop style balloons are cool, they come assembled and are printed on only one side. I assume the pink pin for the stand is so that it can be connected to a base plate and not fall over. I was able to get it to balance fine with just a little effort. A nice figure but not the most exciting to me.
Over all I think this is a great set of figures. It's nice to see them working in a theme, and it really works for me on this one. The next series will be comic book themed and does not look any where as good to me. Lots of cool little accessories in these. The retail price is $6.99 USD a box. That is high compared to Specials Plus for instance. Regular Figures series is $3.99. Is it worth an extra $3 for what you get? The answer will vary but I suspect the price point will keep sales down. This particular group I think is really strong, the next not so much. Will they make it through all 5 series? Or will they not sell well enough and the theme peters out after 2 or maybe even after just this one? With world events this isn't the best time to be launching a premium priced theme. We will see I guess.
That's it for this review. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I have been interested in these since they were first announced. A lot of interesting parts in there. I feel like I need to go buy a case of them myself. Thank you for the review!
-
Thanks for the reviews, Tiermann. The clickies have great colours and some nice accessories
-
Great review, Tiermann! It was a wise decision to buy a full case to ensure you got all the figures, especially as one was short. Extra Toothaches to remind children this is what they may get from too much candy?
The lemon and lime figures with their garish fungi are hopefully not sending out the wrong message about edibility!
Too expensive for me, but some very interesting parts!
-
Thanks so much Tim! They look wonderful. I was underway getting the subparts sorted out for these, but now I can fill them out for sure, and (with credit) will use your lovely clear pictures as before. The links to Animobil from each part-page (like k70389k - Lady Nightmare (https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=k70389k)) are in place.
Would you be able to help me sort out the numbers for the stickers (both large character ones and smaller labels) and the collector cards? I have some of them but they're not assigned to figures, and therefore have no pictures. The cupcake-charms, I have some of the numbers for, but despair of figuring out which is which! Maybe they'll get Spanish names with the colour codes.

Thanks for the indepth views! I kind of always wondered what it'd look like if Playmobil did a candy them (I made my own too) so the Everdreamerz fulfilled that desire! I'm REALLY digging some of the new pieces like the citrus mushrooms and the golden hair of Mr. Rides. I was skeptical of this line, but I guess I'm hooked now! Still, I can't help but wonder what direction Playmobil will go after this.

Thank you for the review, Tiermann :)
I was on the fence about doing these (expecting them), but I think I'll pass. After all, still have The Movie and s17 to do... hopefully before next year :-[

Ah, so that's what it is... :)

:o I went to see what you mean, since I have a couple lose already. I can't FREAKING believe this. SERIOUSLY!?
FRITZ TOMÉ!!! Gods, such stupidity. >:(
I was planning to just leave these silly ringed bases aside, and get "bottoms" for the pretty tops... like this, either cut the stupid rings or be left with useless gorgeous cupcakes.

It just never ends does it? Btw, where can you buy the full case?! My mom and I lucked up ONCE and that was for the Mystery Figures Series 10 on the Playmobil site.
-
Great pics !!!!
A silly question these klickies are they available globally like the mystery figures ?

I order through my local toy shop that carries Playmobil. I just let them know when I want a full case of something and they order it with their regular orders.

As far as I know they are. If the Everdreamerz line shows up in your local catalog then they should be available there eventually.
Heather, already sent you am email to your admin gmail account with a spreadsheet and all the paper part numbers. :)

Thanks so much Tim, I will fetch it and get them inventoried! Mmm numbers, very satisfying :)

Is there any reason that the accessories wouldn't be available through DS? I don't want the figures really, but I think some of the foods and clothes might be useful....
-
Some accessories are available, I have already bought some animals through DS UK.

Successfully?

Yup!

If anyone orders accessories I don't have numbered (or have marked as "one of", like the trays or ice cream packages) please report! I'm workng on putting in Tim's list and photos.

Excellent! I'm not interested in the animals really, but I wondered if they would hold those back to push the figures (on the other hand, I do wonder if anyone other than us really uses the spare parts service?)
I actually like Mrs Milkshake, but I feel I have bad luck with the mystery figures so tend to avoid all the grab bags!
-
Thanks for the in-depth pics and explanations!
I think the cupcake charms might be my favorite part of this series.
-
Thanks for your reviews & photos, I quite like Lady Nightmare & love the lemon/lime twins (it might take me a while to remember their names). Good to know some of the critters are available from DS. Not that I plan on ordering anything for a while..
-
We just got the catalog in the mail. My niece found the Everdreamerz theme weird and confusing and quickly moved on to the animals. So much for target market response . . .

Haha! Let's hope they'll learn their lesson! >:D They probably won't.

And its "Haha" from me too!
It reminds me of something a few years ago when my niece (who was about 7 at the time) was given a set of stick-on fingernails in a package explaining how glamorous she would look when wearing them. She put them on and cackled "witch!'
Despite marketing, children have their own preferences!

 So true! A few years ago my niece asked for the three-headed sea monster. I was so proud.

Thanks for the review!
After a long hiatus from Playmobil, I just love the new aesthetic side of these playmobil.
But I think the price is slightly on the higher side, as they are bundling the rings, cards and stickers with the figures. And making it a surprise box, meaning collectors cannot choose a particular one, is kind of driving me off. Would love to get several of these if I can just buy them with no surprise factor.

I hate all of the blind bags/surprise figures (and also a strange marketing decision, since supposedly they used to use the 'Specials' as a way of gauging interest in themes). I suppose eBay might be your friend for this.

Yes. But sadly some of those popular figures are sold at premium......which was created by Playmobil's decision of selling it in blind bags.
-
Blind bags are a trend in the toy industry right now (as much as we collectors hate them). I suspect Ebay is making the most money off of the trend.
