Victorian Bandstand

I finished my bandstand today for my Victorian diorama at Kirkbean.
It was a bit late when I took the photos so the light is not too good. 
(I now need to replace the pieces I took from our fairy tale palace  :-[)









Thought I might see if I can find some plants to grow up the supporing columns to hide the holes.

It looks wonderfull, it only misses a crowd of clickies so your band gets the appreciation they deserve.  :)

Absolutely awesome, Elaine, I love it!!! Vines are a very good idea, the holes do seem to stand out on the columns. But I just love the colors, and everything. I really like the brick stairs and wood plank floors.

The wood covered base is made up of two semi-circles of floor from the palace covered in wood print paper, but the actual steps are cake display boards.

The cake boards were covered in silver foil and I thought the acrylic paint I used would stick - it did partly, but after two coats some bits just weren't covering and I had to peel it all off -  I got in a terrible mess doing this!!  :(

However the card underneath gave it a good texture for stone.  I just painted the uprights dark grey and the steps terracotta then added the lines for the mortar to seperate the tiles.
I got the idea from a photo of a bandstand I found online, I'm very pleased with the result.

Fantastic work queen elaine. I always loved that band klicky since i was a kiddo ( still have them ..) and its great to see then in use again .  :love: :love:
