the klickys and trees are not included.
Too bad about this, as the ones you've added fit in perfectly. :)
-
Oooh, that is a REALLY awesome DS set! I'm so jealous! ;)
-
This is such a cool set. I am really looking forward to getting one next year. It will be great top be able to eventually get some of the parts by themselves too. I bet they sell a lot of those sign parts.
-
Wonderful photos! Nice to see what all the parts look like, Pgal

Thanks for the pics - that's really a set I MUST own ...
sigh - it's going to be a expensive 2012 ... ::)

What a great set. It looks awesome in your pictures. I will have to add it to my "Must Have" list!
Thanks so much for the post.

Thanks for sharing. Hopefully we get this in January here in the states.
-
Am thinking of asking a german seller I have bought a couple of things off already to order it from ds and send it to me with my other stuff. He was willing to order other things...ohh, temptation!
-
Excellent review . CAre to guess anyone who is getting 6 of these when they make their way down here ??? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

If it is going to be released outside Germany. Here in Belgium, all the German 2011 DS-sets are also online since weeks now, among them the green oldtimer-car and the Western-Watertower. But the medieval bakery, the big barrel and the Western windmill are not included...
-
It may be a supply issue - the bakery was late to be released even in Germany and they may never have caught up with demand. I'm not sure what about the bakery would make it harder to produce than the other sets.
-
I vaguely remember that there was a master mold that needed to be remade - that could have delayed the entire production.
Anyway - if it's worth having, then it's worth waiting for.
Bogro
-
Well it's only a good thing if they can't handle the high demand, that just proves two things to them:
-Steck is still in high demand.
-Medieval civilian sets are still in high demand.
Both great things that make it well worth the wait since it only increases the chances of them releasing more sets like this either through DS or maybe even in stores.
-
Hi,
the bakery was sold out for a while here in Germany.
I guess they did not have produced a great amount in advance, maybe they have not expected that high number of buyers.....(37,-€ is not so cheap...)

How you gonna fit them there?
-
You might need more walls then to expand the city. ;)
Maybe you could add a little cobblestone road printed on paper through the streets to increase the city feeling further of your beautifull capital?
-
info: i ordered the bakery last week and it came 2 days later.

I have two big bags full of steck and lots of medieval klickies i havent used. There is no more space in this room , i need to do something for my vikings as they are a key part in many stories. As for the city , for hte time being just like in NY , since i cant expand floor wise, i will go ' up' and various steck houses incl all teh marekt houses will simply gain anotehr floor !!!!
I really like the idea of the road printed on paper , at the moment i havent got he time to re set the city i want to concentrate on my photostories and some battles etc etc but i agree its a great idea
Also Tahra, you can see i am sure i need to go high and build more floors now, i shoudl have also created a more realistic layout of medieval houses at angles and smaller roads rather than this perfect layout but anyways. I still have hundreds of unsued steck pieces and towers etc, i plan to buy 1500 more steck pieces in late 2012 and my next medieval city sometime in 2013 perhaps will be in another room which is much bigger and this City will be no less that 70% bigget i estimate and the outside walls will be wider and inside walls taller etc etc , but i want to get my stories doen first with this edition !!!

I am sooooooooooooo jealous of all your space!

I am sooooooooooooo jealous of all your space!
Well in 1997 there was a flood and all the playmobili had in a similar basement were washed away . i was lucky that a few months before some were taken elsewhere, i lost however lots of klickies, most modern /construction i had, all space, some pirates and various other toys, so i guess no matter what there is always a risk and a downside .
-
The assasin's Creed games might be a great source to help with thinking of details for a medieval city layout, with all kinds of little details to give inspiration. :)
And my condolences to the poor clickies that drowned in that flood. :(

Thanks, the good nes is that they have been replaced and by much bigger numbers i suppose ...
Some inspiration for my medieval set up has come from oblivion the game and i suppose similar inspiration will come from Skyrim that is being released on the 11th. I am getting a special VIP pack from Bethesda and i just cant wait to play the game and get inspiration for my medieval / dragonland set ups !!!!!
-
That's awful, I can't imagine that.

Oh my goodness - that's terrible! I'd be in mourning for days if that happened to me. :(

Days? I'd never get over it! :'(

Me neither!! :o :o :o
Stupid water, I hate it! :uhoh:
-
 Love ships, hate water, huh? ;)
-
At least the pirate clickies might get away safely on their floating pirate ships.

it was I thought too :D
Otherwise, there is a rope instead of a chain to open the "door" like on the previous models

-
I would replace that horrid rope with a chain plenty of playmo chains about , i am sure one will fit , length wise etc :)
-
Does this set comw with toasts?
-
Bolingbroke : Good Question. The answer is : No
the one you see between the signs is not included.
-
Thanks. Are toasts still available via DS? That's why I asked, basically.
-

Toasts are still available!
please send a link where you can order toasts. i so often hear about stuff you can order in the store but i never see them. i tried to find out if it is possible to get single parts from the bakery. the infos i did get via email or on the phone were not helping very much...

Thank you for coming back to topic guys!
Can't wait to have a couple of this in my hands! Thanks for the review.

?? ??? At your DS-department (Germany), no? And other parts for the bakery should be already available at DS-Germany, or otherwise very soon I think?

You can't just order them directly off the website. You will have to email in a sare parts order to the customer service department, using the part numbers.

Have a look here:

I am surprised and actually slightly shocked that the new bakey comes without toasts !!!! A steck building needs the toasts as they provide extra rigidity, aesthetically they are a must and all together a key element of any steck design . Which reminds me i need to order no less than 1200 of them to ensure i have enought for my next stecxk design... yeap i am making drawings of my next city/castle , might be earlier than planned ...
Plenty of toasts also on ebay not sure how the prices there compare to playmobil though ...
-
for the bakery you just need one "toast" - if they are still available i also don´t understand why it´s missing in the set...
-
A small and friendly hint: Use the search function.
sorry i still don´t get it.
you will not find anything with the part number: 30028740 or "lückenfüller" @ DS in the search section
also : can anyone answer the question if it is possible to order single parts ( yes steck parts or the signs ) alone and in bigger quantities ?
-
Simply enter "toast*"...
*is used as wildcard
You can order a single "toast" if you like, but please keep in mind that you have to pay shipping costs.......
sorry i still don´t get it.

How are toasts ordered on DS? As single ones or in small bags?

Here's the part (filler/toast) with partnumber 30 02 8740....
Just put the partnumber on your order and give it any descprition you want, like f.e. "mauerfüller" or something in German lanugage...
http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-02-8740
-
The "Toasts" are only available at germans DS via phone call (only 5 different part numbers) or via email (service@playmobil.de)
Regarding your search: Sorry this was a misunderstanding. I tought that you meant the search function at playmofriends. I´ve not seen that you meant DS.

So this part number equal just one toast then ??? or a set of ten ??
-
I must have this!
-
A nice set, but string instead of chains?
-
Noooo! No-no-no! I didn't know the German DS-catalogue offered more sets than the Belgian one, but now I read this thread and I went to have a look and it's all TRUE :o
They have all sorts of sets I would really really really like to buy and at a very low price too, but you can't order unless you have a German address.
This is horrible :(
Isn't there a way around this? Can you buy these DS-items in a shop in Germany somewhere? At the Funpark maybe?
I can't believe I almost paid double price for the western windmill on E-bay and thought that was a bargain! :o
By the way, the bakery look gorgeous, so yes, I'd buy a lot of those if I had the chance.
-
Yes, I think they have everything in stock at the funpark in Zirndorf. The main reason I would like to visit, one of these days.
-
Yes, normally they have the full DS line at the Funpark shop.
-
I've looked it up and it will be a 6 hour drive to Zirndorf. I'm afraid I'll have to disguise it as a full-blown holiday to Germany. But I'll make sure I have my bakery soon! :)
-
i missed the funpark today but hopefully when i go next week will get a few of this bakery
-
I still don't know why they can't have the whole line-up in ALL the funparks. I asked PM Malta that, but unfortunately I did not get a reply. All they have is bloody animals, and trees, and the old hotdog seller.
-
Still waiting for this great old set . I really think it needed to have the 30 02 679 basket. I think the 30 25 7460 open hearth brick oven should have also be in the set. With the way the set is there is no way to bake the bread or deliver it. I actually am surprised that an oven was never in the set. How did they bake anything in there ?
-
How did they bake anything in there ?
Playmo magic ;D ;D ;D
A lot of the original mediaval steck houses didnt have much needed items such as beds for example, some clothes in the taylor's shop and of course the oven in the bakery , nevertheless they did come with a fair amount of accessories to keep even the most irritating children ( like me ) happy
-
They don't bake bread, they just sell it. :)
-
They don't bake bread, they just sell it. :)
IS this how it was in reality back in the medieval times? For some reason I always thought that the tailor shop made the clothes, the shoe maker crafted the shoes, the baker baked the bread etc.....Not that the shop was a distribution place and the items were carted in from other locations. If it was a street market than yes but this is the Brick and Mortar shop where the craft took place. I think it sends the wrong message in educating kids. I will be fitting our shops with "much needed" appropriate features
apparently I am a bit more irritating and I feel this is not a fair amount of accessories :P
-
maybe it was the first "drive in" :)
-
And now I am picturing two clickies with a cart and wagon pulling over next to this house and ordering some bread through the window in a similar fasion as how people order fast food at a drive in.
-

Good idea !!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

That would be really cute, actually!
-
I'd make a picture of it if I had the bakery. :P

Oh god!, I need one! :inlove:

The medieval bakery is available since a few days/weeks with DS-Belgium as well.
The big barrel also, but it said "unavailable" when it tried to put it in my shopping-basket past weekend... I guess it is temporarily sold-out already.
-
Is there any furniture for the 2nd floor? Does anyone have pics of it opened up to see the second floor?
-
There isn't any easy way to get to the second floor-
I know, 'cause my boy keeps shoving all the bread and other accessories through the windows and coming to me to get them out... >:(

I missed the barrel as well, Erwin, it was immediately out of stock. In a country where people drink so much beer, that's obviously no surprise ;D ;D ;D

Seems like clickies take over local habits around the world then.

I would just leave the ceiling out entirely, having it be 'open beam' is only going to increase the play value for you.
-
Does this DS BAkery come with a toast or 10 toasts or none ???? ??? ??? ???
-
George : no toasts. the pics in the beginning show all parts included. btw. your taylor house is on the way

Naw- when he's shoved all the accessories into the upper floor, it means he isn't going to lose pieces...
