As suggested by Richard and Indianna, this thread is for posting pictures of figures that are clearly not Playmobil, but are trying very hard to be. All entries welcome.

Thanks for starting this up, Martin!  You deserve full credit for the museum idea, though!  And Richard is the one who suggested posting the pix here.  Some really interesting non-Playmobil is already appearing.  It looks like this will evolve into a very interesting archive!   8-)

A lot of these toys look like dead-ringers for Playmobil knock-offs.

Others deserve some benefit of the doubt... The scale of the figure and the shape of the hand alone shouldn't get a toy line roped in as a knock-off.

We need like a taxonomy, and then train somebody up as the forum Knock-off Playmobil expert.

Scholar: "I'm sorry.  Though the hands and the scale of the figure match criteria, that only counts for two points.  The cylindrical shape of the head counts 3 points against, and places this figure in the genre of Lego ripoff."

Those Simba ones are very not-Playmobil!

I wonder how the kids in the pictures feel, helping to promote an inferior product?

The animals certainly look a lot like Playmo.
Funny how just a subtle difference in shape can look so bad. It shows how refined and streamlined Playmobil design is.

These are currently on eBay - the seller claims he contacted Playmobil and was told they were Playmobil. Unfortunately it's hard to tell the scale, but I don't think even Hans Beck's early protoypes looked like this.
