Many very nice ones!  8-)
The fur hat from the English Guard, is that an artistical freedom or did they wear that in the US at the time of the ACW ?

Some units actually had them
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

The fur hat from the English Guard...

Known in England as a "Busby" btw.
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

I'd not heard of US busbies before either, a little goggling about turned up a few references, this link has a nice pic proving the case: http://www.jamesmountainantiques.com/product/troy-new-york-militiaman-in-busby-civil-war-veteran/

The figures wearing the busbies are based on existing units. The one with the blue trousers is the Chicago Light Guard....the other one I would have to look up.

Today some civilians.

There is an indefinable, subtle poetry to your customs.
