Chapter VII.

The warriors of Arboria reached under the guidance of HADOR and BE'TAK already soon the savage country. Messengers had already announced their coming, and so JURAS was expecting impatiently his old friend. The both men's joy about the reunion was great. But HADOR's astonishment was still larger over the miracle healing of his comrade.

They confered together with NUMUR and BE'TAK. TIRAN was expected only in some days. They knew that he had the furthest way and the largest followers. Besides he had to cross enemy's country. He would advance thus only slowly.

„ARTRAC is collecting his troops before the gates of Talsend. After our spies his preparations will be final in two days “, JURAS avowed his comrade. „Queen SELLINAS is warned by JON and his people. She will consulting everyone, who is able to hold a weapon in the hand, all the same whether man or woman, to defense of the mountain fortresses. SELLINAS and her people know that this will be the last battle. “

„When ARTRAC will attack the mountain realm, a small crew will only stay in the gate fortress. That is the suitable time, on which we will slam shut. Nobody will count from the inside on an attack. With united forces we will take the fortress and the way back will cut off to ARTRAC. If this succeeded to us, we will also unite our forces to TIRAN's troops. We will together attack ARTRAC, which will be then between our lines. “

„Thus ARTRAC's troops were beginning their march on the second day. A not ending mass of dragon soldiers marched by the lanes of Talsend. ARTRAC showed again the population his power. The inhabitants  closed fearfully windows and doors. The older ones among them remembered the dragon wars, and fear drew into their hearts.

The soldiers went further and further, until they reached the border fortress. The iron-fitted gate wings opened slowly before the enormous army. Then the army started moving again and crossed the gate. Finally also the last cart and the last soldier passed the border fortress. One had never before seen such a large army in the kingdoms.

Behind them the heavy wings of the gate closed again, and the gate guardians put the latch plate forward. In the faith to have escaped the fights TREMOR's soldiers began their guard service. Already on the next day the routine returned, and they provided their service only superficially.

The united armed forces of the nomades and the forest people were starting in the meantime likewise their march. The observer showed up an unusual view: the dark-membranous nomades on the backs of their long-legs and long-trunks, side by side with the blond forest people dressed in green. Hardly one could imagine more opposite allied ones.

Thus the strange army reached the gate fortress. Some of the forest people had explored quickly the situation. Then it was an easy for the rebels to surprise the careless guardians. The speedy forest people seemed to fly up the ladders and stairs to their opponents. The eye could hardly follow their rapid movements. Roaring the long-trunks provided for additional confusion with TREMOR's soldiers. They had seen such enormous animals never before.

The fight was only from short duration.  TREMOR's soldiers left very fast the morale in view of the large supremacy, and they surrendered to their aggressors. Only with trouble JURAS could hold back NUMUR and the warriors of the nomads, which wanted to take revenge for their members kidnapped into the slavery. They abandoned only reluctantly of the defeated ones.
