3274 set review
« on: June 01, 2010, 19:49:38 »
I had been wanting this set for a few years, but it was low on my priority list. Last week i saw it listed MISB on Ebay and got if for only $25. Of course steck is steck after all and you should never pass up an opportunity to acquire more.

This should be a good companion piece to my 3030 set.

Contents. To paraphrase Homer Simpson, mmmmmm steecckkkk!

Five klickies come with set and are nicely costumed.

Wooden parts are shaded a redder brown than the normal parts and i like the difference in this set

Completed ruins as viewed from rear. Spiderweb windows are a nice touch.

Ruins from the front.

If you had any doubts about these guys, you can remove them now. They are definitely black hats!

Knights horse with scallop. This will look good at the 3652 tournament.

Furniture and bear rug. Oh no, call PETA and ban this set.  ::)

Jewellery, trinkets and loot. Presumably stolen.

On the whole very pleased with this set and good value for money. When this set first came out, it was a Woolworths exclusive in Germany and some crazy prices were paid on Ebay back around 2002. I like the black furniture, as it adds to the ambience of the wolf guys, suggesting skullduggery and banditry. Also i think the black throne is an exclusive to this set, though i could be wrong.

Architecturally it is essentially a reworking of the wizards workshop 3839, another set on my wish list ( god i hope my wife doesn't read this ). I like the old school horses and still prefer them to the new style, especially with the tournament coats added to the horses. Anyway i would highly recommend this set and think it would look good with 3030.

LOL

Great review Abbot Hamilton! And I fully agree with you on a couple of things....more steck is always good, cheap steck is better.

"Lets hope my wife doesnt find out!" is a sentiment I sometimes share, but we share our Playmobil hobby but I might be a bit TO active on ebay for her taste :-)

My wish list is increasing quickly, for 25 I would def go for this :-)

Great set, great review!

But this set was only available in the USA, right?

Love the spider web windows. I've got a couple of them, in black and yellow. Just bought my second set 3839 wizards workshop.

Also have the new one, from direct service. Not as nice. It has system X walls.
