Nice customs Justindo! What nationality are these troops?

I like the use of a wise man as the King. btw I just bought a Nativity Set at TRU today, they had 3 on the shelf at $20 each, and you get a lot of useful historical figures in the set. They're offering 25% off some sets, but nothing I wanted.

I'm getting enthusiastic about Ancient Greece from all the customs popping up from WoT and others. I bought a copy of the Iliad and Odyssey and a small book about Ancient Greece at Barnes & Noble as well. Here's hoping the Ancient Greece theme becomes a reality!

Thanks, Martin.

I haven't yet decided what the nationality is of these people.  They could be Parthian, Sassanid, Palmyrene, Hatrene, Armenian, or something else.  They could be enemies or allies of Rome, depending on the time or one's whim. ;)

I've actually used all three of the wise men as kings for my various North African and Arabian groups. (I hope to post them all this weekend.)

I'm pleased you plan to read Homer's epics.  While The Odyssey is a good read overall, I'd recommend reading the Iliad selectively.  While it's no doubt an important text and excellent in many respects, the countless sacrifices get repetitive and Achilles comes across as a spoiled, whiny, little child throughout most of it.  Still, don't let that discourage you, as it does have some great parts and superb battles.

Great custom, Justindo ...  :wow: :wow: :wow:

The armoured caparison from set 4920 really works well. And, as you said, when you get the crinet (or chamfron) from the Drachenland set, he'll look perfect!

I agree with Martin, the "wise guys" make great middle eastern kings. (The three new wise men, should also make great ancient characters ... just as they are, or customized.)

I can see soooo many possibilities with those wise men Richard!!!
Thanks for the pictures of your Cataphract Justindo, he is really a great custom!
I hope that steel hoarse armor comes out soon, they will make our Cataphracts complete!
I hope you enjoy those books Martin, they are really neat to read.

Thanks, Richard and WarriorOfToys! :)

That's a great website resource, Richard.  Technically, I guess Playmobil's new horse head and neck armor is a chamfron and crinet all in one.

I'm very much looking forward to that new wise men set.  The klickies are definitely ripe for customizing, there are some great new accessories, and the camel blanket and saddle has new printing on them too!  This set is an embarrassment of riches for Ancient and Crusader fans.

Very very nice website there Richard! (I didnt look at it the 1st time... :-[)
Guess what is the newest website under my Favorites... ;)

Did someone say, "Crusades" ???
That is exsacly what I was thinking! The long tunics are perfect! Exsacly what I have been looking for!
Those two light skinned peoples would make great Crusading noble men.
And the Darker skinned lad would make a great Muslim noble man!
The camel could be his steed.
I can certainly envision getting LOTS of these sets!

Couple of things I just noticed in that 4886 Wise Kings set; the item on top of the camel's saddle is a cunning variation on the canopic jars, using the same base with a new top. The front wise man is waving a thurible or censer (incense burner), very handy for those Catholic service play sessions.  0)

I like the fact that we can obtain the wise men without the rest of the nativity scene, and it will indeed be a multiple purchase for these very useful figures.

Yes,
I did not see the incense burner either!
That would be very good with the new church and preist.

Had no idea that the censer would be of such interest ...  0)
