Are all Western Cannons smooth-bored?
« on: December 30, 2016, 19:35:18 »
I have two Western cannons with different barrels. They are similar in size and both fit the Western cannon carriages, but one has a smooth barrel and the other has two parallel internal flanges.

Can anyone help me work out which of the cannons in the 13 Western sets with cannons have smooth bores and which have the flanged barrel?

I also have a ramrod with two grooves (presumably for a cannon with internal flanges) which I cannot find in PlaymoDB- any suggestions?

At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)

The smooth cannons were the earliest I'm sure.

I, too, had a flanged ramrod.
