Schwabach: Playmobil-Goldschläger ist ausverkauftSchwabach: Playmobil Goldschläger is sold out
Every 25,000 copies are out of print - Is there a second edition? - 08/01/2017 05:59
SCHWABACH - The good news: The Playmobil Goldschläger is a complete success. The bad news: This mascot of the Schwabacher Stadtjubiläum is already sold out at the beginning of the city jubilee. The hopeful news: At the city hall at least one thinks about whether there is a second edition.
The city council would have to decide. And as soon as possible. "It would take five or six months to deliver it," says Jürgen Ramspeck, the city's press secretary. "And if a new gold beater came, it would be nice if he were there until the great feast with the common table in the city park on July 7th. This is a highlight in the jubilee year. "
25,000 pieces had ordered the city at Playmobil. And the small symbol of the great tradition of craftsmanship immediately captured the hearts of Schwabacher. On the Christmas market and in the Bürgerhaus, he found a bursting sales force. Meanwhile, the online shop, which the city has set up together with the life-support workshop, also reports everything.
"Collector orders came from all over Europe," says Ramspeck. "Strikingly many from Spain. Apparently there are lots of Playmobil fans there. "
Daily inquiries
A deliberately "limited edition", however, the 25,000 Goldschläger are not. Instead, it was a "special figure": "This means that they are not available via Playmobil or in the toy trade, but only through the client, in this case the city", explains Ramspeck. And that means at the moment: not at all.
What many disappointed. "We still receive daily inquiries," reports Ramspeck. "The demand is there."
Finding one can still be on Ebay - if one is willing to pay instead of the 2.99 euros at least five or even more.
In a new edition, however, the city would have to take care of collectors and do not simply imitate the first edition. "We would at least change a detail," says Ramspeck.
Bat with real gold leaf
As the second gold bat figure could look, Inge Kipfstuhl has an already an idea. The head of the Hans-Kipfstuhl-Theater has provided the Goldschläger with real gold leaf.
Gilded, she has the green apron, the shoes, the hammer and the goldbuckle, as well as the two gold bars. In addition, the toy man has gold baubles in her hair, and she has given him a beach plate and a hammer.
The plastic gold racket was a Christmas present. For himself, Inge Kipfstuhl has created two gilded playmobil gold clubs, a master and his apprentice.
