Hi there! Thnx for the replies...

I'm using a PM hull because that's what I do: PM customs ;-) Also because it's faster but the main reason it's the shape of the original 'Spray': it reminded me a LOT the PM schooner. A very good starting point.

I do build some ships from scratch, but always in PM scale. Lots more fun!!!!

BTW, I'll be starting some new threads on a custom build 99% PM plastic 1900's tugboat made from a pair of pirate galleons, a galleon section model from a children guitar, a spaceship from a hand vacuum cleaner and a Harley WLA. Hope you like them!

Best,

i've read his book 5 or 6 times.
it still amazes me every time.
a story filled with short stories (the nails in the top pf the deck at megellan's strait is one of my favourites).
i hope your work is still going on.
from what i've seen, it will turn out great.
congratulations.

New pics coming very soon! This project was left aside for lack of time reasons, but it's being continued and finished at the moment.

Sorry for the delay, my apologies.

Btw, there's two more projects going on and new topics will be open.

Best,

I missed this thread when it first started but picked it up today.  It is a most interesting thread, a truly outstanding project and a great tribute to Joshua Slocum.  I read a review of his book late last year when a paperback copy was published (the book has never been out of print since it was first published) and was wondering whether to buy it; this thread has decided me to do so.

Thanks a million for the compliments!
Go ahead and buy the book, it's one of those that keeps in a family's heritage. I was blown away when I read it, love the old writing style and the epic journey and ship descriptions.
