Our son and his beavers

Our middle son who is 9 has a school project about animals and he chose to do his report on beavers. He was supposed to make a shoe box dio and that was just not good enough for me so he has now put together this dio for his school report. He will show it in class and give a report in front of class about it. He will set it up and I said he will have about 20 minutes to put it together. He first drew a blue print on the idea  and then built it. Now that it is built he will box it up and have it all ready .

here you can see how it is a mature pond as he has also built in canals that the beavers use to get food. The trees are all the same at the beginning and the end but where the pond is all the tall trees have been resorted to stumps. Once the beavers eat the main trees diffrent species move in . Eventually the beavers run out of appropriate food and will abandon the site.

Great diorama, I am sure that the demonstration will show what he has learned and what a treat for his classmates.
