I saw the catalog on the US site last night and was rather surprised (and happily so, I might add) with some of the new additions. I especially love the new Winter playbox, that Tractor Trailer, the new camping sets, and I was surprised by the new take along Haunted Workshop. Of course I love the new Hockey Advent calendar too...
I was disappointed in seeing the lack of the Porsche SUV with the horse trailer though (since we got the rest of the equestrian line.) I’m still not happy that we didn’t get the Police Horse Trailer either. Looks like I have a few sets that I’ll be needing from across the pond.

The haunted house and the Egyptian play box are pretty cool. I love that new mummy.
I'm very surprise that the Explorers line will also be available in the US as it's just coming out in Germany.
I'm hoping that they'll be available in Canada as well.

Wow, they are making up for last year clearly. Not only the expected series but the new Dinos series that hasn't even been publicly announced for Germany yet. I do notice that the Spy theme isn't there. There is at least one or two things I want from that so I will have to order those from Germany I guess. No Super 4 either.
The Halloween theme stuff is great though. Did you notice the three two figure packs in that theme? Great stuff.

That 9312 Take-Along Haunted Hause is really 8-) I hope we´ll get that one in the assortment here in Europe too. The Take-Along Pirates´Stronghold 9112 (rather a tavern) didn´t make the trip across the pond (yet), nothing about it in the novelties announced in the late PCC for first-half 2018...
Those 3 spooky duopacks Tiermann mentions are very nice as well. The Egyptian-Zombie box is nice too, but as meanwhile usual the contents are on the low side.
What´s with that red barn? :o Are they bringing back the real System-X ?!

Yes, a true Playmobil-coffin!! That is a must-have! I´d like to see better pics or a pic of the real deal to judge it´s size...
There was the Snowwhite "coffin" some years ago, but without customising that one is only suited for displaying dead royals.

Well, it looks like that the US fox has coloured eyes and nose, while the EU fox doesn’t have that, according to the pictures...

Actually I think they are the same, but the European one hasn't been shown publicly yet so this is the first we are officially seeing of it.

Is it just more or are the Mystery Figures more bizarre than past years? I can't even figure out what many of them are supposed to be.

I suppose it all depends on what are own particular interest(theme) is in....for me, I'm excited by new parts/colours for parts I can use in building my Asian theme....so I'll never keep any Fi?ure in its original combination...except maybe the statue of liberty...but luckily I never got her ;D

I called him Arabian rather than Arab because he seems like the kind of guards/mob who appeared in those tales like the Arabian Nights, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Aladdin etc rather than historic soldiers. For sure I'd expect him to guard a harem, but those were palace guards weren't they?

I like the undead warrior in the Egyptian Tomb set, but the new DuoPacks are the best that I see. They have some great parts! The scythe, brown wizard hat band, and the additional robes, cloaks, hoods, and hats are definitely welcome.

And there is a new color on the bat ornament too I had missed - with the vampire duopack.
And new grey squirrels in the camping adventure set!
Those dragon? heads from the haunted house are probably system x connecting, which will make them very useful to some people. The silver branches in the winter carry box likewise.

What does 1017 on the coffin refer to? Anything? The numbers on the inside of the door are the set number so I assume this means something too.

I guess it is a mistake for 2017, the year of release, just like it was done (correctly!) on the Fackwerkhäuser and the Roman statue base.

Well, my guess is, that 1017 is correct, it is the year that the Vampire was born / the human died ;-) , that makes sense in this case. The set nr on the door however, no exact clue...

I am sure someone will step forward and help you, Hadoque. What I am less sure of is if there is any way around the cost of duties when exporting from the US. Shipping costs can be fairly steep, but the export duties are eye-watering!
There is a chance some of the "US" exclusives may be sold in the UK, certainly worth a look on UK sites....
And before the UK leaves the EU, export duties are non-existent to other EU countries. After that, who knows? Theresa May certainly doesn't.

Have meanwhile the new Halloween duopacks 9307, 9308 and 9309 shown up in US shops?
They aren´t available yet in the Playmobil-USA webshop, while the US-catalogue says new for "august 2018"...

Haven't seen them yet. They usually show up on the website first, so probably not here yet. Hopefully soon since they are a seasonal item for the next couple of months. The Haunted House is here, it's nice for a carry along box. Some great accessories in it.

I asked and got "next year" as an answer. :( So, after much debating, I ordered the cats and small animals from Germany to get us through Small Child's birthday and Christmas. :shhhh: She's not getting any younger (nor am I for that matter).
