Title: Garden centre theme ex-shop display
Post by: naflibomyalp on November 02, 2011, 16:32:03
My latest eBay purchase I picked up on Monday evening-only 15 minutes away.   :)9
It's an ex-shop display so the pieces were originally glued but have been pulled off for playing however, the items on the shelves in the shop are still glued which is quite handy as they don't fall over constantly.
I wasn't expecting the board to be all that good but it is really detailed.  The figures aren't the originals but for £13 I'm not really bothered.   ;D

A photographed the sticker on the bottom because I am interested in where it has come from.  eBay feedback research shows the people I bought it off bought it off someone else in the UK but the sticker is in French?   :hmm:  Could it be from a french shop or would that be where it was put together?

Wow, £13.00  :omg: That is a fantastic buy Verity.
I love the way the house has been made into the flower shop
I saw this, but iI think it was just collection only, I realised it was near you and wondered if you would see it, but thought you were just collecting the Victorian houses  :)

My latest mansion arrived the other week too but to compensate I did sell one.   ;)
I think with the total up to 7 I need to stop now!

Right that's it I'm going to sit and sulk

It'll go with my microset ex-display (£12 two years ago) very nicely.   :P

Did you know they did a similar one that housed the city life shops which carries on the same boards I think (I've tried to get both of these in the past)

Ah, I didn't know that!

Oh I nearly forgot, nice buy btw ;)

Great find! A real bargain too, that was a great series and is getting harder to find these days.

It is so much fun building garden shops, and yours is just lovely! And what a steal of a price! Another fine build, Pgal ;D

Now that is really nice! I have some of the garden sets but think using that house as the store base is fantastic. A great win!

Having set up 8 greenhouses without a shop, I agree that they need a building for the shop, and this one works quite well.
My favorite older house is the 3988, which I will try as a garden shop next time it is set up. The suburban house does offer many possibilities because of the extension kits. And this one looks superb as a garden center. Cheers, Pgal

Yeah, one of the things I find about some of the System-X buildings made from 1995-2011 are actually quite versatile when it comes to building shops and boutiques. I also love the 3988 - I've had my eye on one at our local toy store. :)

PMMan:
If it is a new 3988 or in decent condition, you may want to grab it. I have bought 7 in the past  10 months (since I began collecting), and they are getting harder to find each month. Only the first one was new, off craigslist from a nearby home for just 90.USD.

Most of the 3988's have faded walls and some sort of damage....broken this or that or missing this or that. I believe it is one of the finest sets PM ever made, and have put those windows and frames in many other houses because that is my favorite window color combo.

They will make a fine garden center with a roof that is just a bit easier on the eyes than the modern house roof line. Have fun building with them, Pgal
