Post by: conniefrere on October 13, 2011, 19:46:46
Flavius Belisarius was a general of the Byzantine emperor. According to Robert Graves one the last of "real" Roman Knight.
After Belisarius the knights looked like...well how you think the look like in medieval times  ??? :P lot of beautiful and different types of knights from these era's.

Here he is

The background is the cover of the book "Lord Belisarius, by Robert Graves"

Thank you all for the nice compliments. My First custum were heads, legs, arm were exchanged. I guess the next step would now probably be airbrushing klicky's. :)

I like it. I much prefer this kind of custom to the ones involving paint and non-PM parts, really. The only thing I would've liked was for belisarius here to have some sort of collar accessory. I hate a bare neck on a klicky  :) (that's one of the reasons I didn't much like the new cowboys, in fact).

You got me there, in fact, I would haven given him a cloak, turns out he did not fit on the horse. The photo without the horse i forgot to put on the cloak. :(

You can either give him a short coat, or else those softy cloaks found on the Roman tribune (was it a tribune) set - which is still not a perfect fit horseback-wise, but better than nothing.

Then again, one of the classic PM sets - the 3688 knights training set, the klicky is wearing a hard, calf-length cloak and has to bend forward 45 degrees to get on the horse, and nobody minds one bit!

I did not have the soft cloak in red, those would have been excellent. These also look very royal to my eyes.

Will be searching the 3688 set and will upgrade Belisarius in the future. My PM collection isn't to big at the moment.

Byzantine empire.....!! The longest empire in history but so deliberated forgotten .It is sad as it gave to the world so many things in letters,laws,masorny....etc and of course all the gold and wealth that europeans needed that time to leave behind the Middle Ages(1204ac).The Turks found nothing compare to the crusaders!!
Also one great example of political corruption and stealing of public property.

Sorry for that....

Great custom!! You should raise a byzantine army. With cataphracts and the first infantry "riflemen" with the liquid fire.
Those roman blue archers are great to make Byzantines.

Great idea, problem I'm having is the fact I just own 1 roman archer.  :'(
Furthermore I like the idea of the greek fire too! I have to ponder about that.
