Hey!
It's been a while since I haven't posted any new knights. Actually, I have been very busy on a big project, involving over 20 new knights, but I can't say more! :shhhh:
I think this forum is hugely lacking knights these days so I found a solution: post more knights!
OK, here's my (first) new contribution, based upon a historical coat of arms:
Then...I ordered these orange knights from DS. I didn't expect them to be THAT orange! Not too heraldic. So I did my best. (this color makes a nice hazmat suit for a custom Batman, but you'll have to wait!)
There's a few more but I like to tease! :P
Best,
Arnaud
-
Woo Hoo... I have been working on a few knights too, though not with the fancy heraldic work you do :)
Will also post some soon... hopefully... and I actually LOVE that orange knight, should be very colorful in a tournament ... can't wait to get my hands on some... :)
-
Thanks Baron. Can't wait to see more orange knights! ;)
Here it is on playmoDB, http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-8552. It's already available on DS.
Best,
Arnaud
-
Oh come on!!! :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit: we want to see more!!!!
Great new work Arnaud!! The second on is a very delicate work :lens:
-
The eagle one takes the cake, without a doubt! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/notworthy.gif)
-
Thanks Panos and Luciano :D
I just Realised that the orange knight needs some accessories on his back! Pfff! What then? I'll have to take the pictures again! How long do you have to edit a post?
@Luciano: you changed your avatar picture again. Is that a challenge or something? Like "a new avatar each day of the week"? ;D
-
Don't mind him, he has a multiple personality disorder.
But he is getting better.
Or so the doc said (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/hmm-1.gif).
-
Thanks Panos and Luciano :D

yeah the orange knight is awesome!
but what are those pegs in the back for originally?
I really like your design Arnaud!
-
They held the wings of the previous dragon knights, Gas. I don't like those a lot. I mean, if you put this collar AND a belt on a knight, you have to give him so many accessories! I always feel I'd better spare my weapons for some other knights to come.

mmm ok so you can try cheng's scalp technique ;D
-
I refuse to comment on your thread unless you stop teasing... :hmm:
Except for this post...
And this:
:wow: :wow: :wow:
-
Great work! All your knights are excellent!

unless the knight comes from a special unit or a specific customiser and he loads the knights with a variety of weapons
-
These knights are great customs!  My favorite is the 'black wave' knight, very well done!
I'd like to make customs myself but and I know more people here are using templates for the shields, klickies and horses. So my questions are: where can I get these templates, and on what material do you print your heraldic signs? Thanks, and keep up the good work!
-
Another one, then!
He's Lancelot du Lac, official though fantasy coat of arms (after some time the heroes of the Middle Ages tales, like here, The Knights of the Round Table, were given official coats of arms, even though these guys never existed). Raised by the fairy Morgane in her underwater tree/palace...

More to come... >:D >:D

Your new designs are AWESOME Arnaud.
I love the way you did the split on the first knight it really gives it a great feel of being one design instead of several different ones.
The second one is great detail work but, to me not is captivating is the first one. Although I LOVE the orange detail on the top of the caparison.
The last one is also a great integral design and I love the reddish color.
Looking forward for more!!
-
Arnaud, is it possible to make stickers to fit into the sections of the horse head armor? :o
That would be really cool! You could make a chainmail print and...
But I get ahead of myself... ;D
Great Knight Sir Arnaud! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
I think he is one of my favorite knights you have ever made...
Other then the knights I commissioned from you. ;)
-
WoT, I've been thinking along the same line. It'd be great to have the coat of arms repeated on the horse's head cover. The problem is there are too many ups and down on the horse head piece (let's say it's a hood, for short) to apply a transfer neatly. This could be done with water-slide stickers but only upon white surfaces or yellow surfaces with no white in the design.
Otherwise, very small transfers could be placed on the sides of the neck where the hood is relatively flat. But I'm afraid shrinking the designs turn the details of the design to blur.
A complete chaimail would be impossible, IMO, I think it should be sculpted...
Best,
Arnaud
-
Very nice work, Arnaud. I think I like the second one best.
-
Great designs, Arnaud! Brilliant!
-
I see, thanks for that... :)

-Oh! You're so lucky! This sword is Goblin made, ain't it? I reckon it must be really ancient.
-Yes, it was given to my great-great-great-grandfather by King Xk'pokltang the 34th, as a token of the allegiance of the Goblins to the Empire of Krull. I must say I'm quite proud to have this one...

Neither me nor my sister managed to feel anything.. :-[
-
My wife brought me one. She thought she had felt a cloak so it might be a knight. She had felt right. Though it's the boxer that has a cloak… now I have two!

Since I was busy with the Knights of the Golden Fleece, I haven't posted anything new here for weeks. There you go! A second version of my Two-tone (and not Teuton! ;D) knight. With a brand new caparison of course!

I really like the heraldry of the first and last knights...
But I don't like the caparison of the first knight. ???
However, I like the effect of the last.
I like the middle one too, ;)
but I wanted to compare the first comparison with the last.
Of this last batch my favorite is the last knight. :xmascheer:
Brilliant job Arnaud!
-
Its really interesting following your work Arnaud! At first your customs were simple, just swaping parts.then you moved on to designing simple or already existing coat of arms for your customs, and now you reach a point where your designs are much more complex, with tiney details, like the chainmail, and the eagle and the bird in these latest knights!! Way to go!!!
-
Magnificient      as always
-
Thanks guys!
Don't know why I never showed that next one before. WoT, I think it's the one you refused for Rutileo!

Is that a helmet from the space-theme?? It looks quite suitable for knights 8-) , at least from the front. Do you also have a sideview-pic?
All your knight-customs are truly awesome, Geobra should award you a "Chevalier"-title!
-
Yep! That's the one Erwin! I haven't got a side or rear view at hand but I will make one asap. I don't use those helmets anymore since the #4670 Special Crusader came out. I don't have many either. :(
All your knight-customs are truly awesome, Geobra should award you a "Chevalier"-title!
;D ;D ;D
-
Excellent! :wow:
I too like to look of that helmet on knights.
It looks great Arnaud. :)
-
Nice one!!! ;D
-

WOW! I like him. Where are those red legs from?
-
They're from the Knight Chritopher. But you can find them on some of the New Lion knights too.
Best,
Arnaud
-
Arnaud i want to get 4 of the last one as generals for the massive black lion guard of krull ( each will command 250 klickies ) , can you please for the horse just use the original black lion guard herard , same on the klicky sir ? please pm me details of the proposed knight, prices etc as usual sire, at yuor own leasure sire, no need to rush !!!!
-
Arnaud, i like your last one best (cause I've so a small army with these shields :P)
and the printing is so 'factory-made' that it looks printed and not a sticker at all!
you have perfected your sticker-making techincs :xmascheer: :xmascheer: :xmascheer:
too bad ancient chinese armies cant have stickers, otherwise I'll be pleading with you to make me some :rudy: :rudy:
merry christmas my firend!
and all PFs here too! :xholly: :xholly: :xholly: :xholly:
-
A,
I vote for the red shield with the white flower as my favorite.
Have you tried any other color of shields with this lovely white flower? I purple would look stupendous. And maybe a light orange?
This are sooooo cooooool, Pgal! :cracker: :cracker: :cracker:

Thanks Pgal, the purple could look nice. But light orange is waaaaaay out of question, not a heraldic color at all!

Just wanted to show you some changes I made for the Unicorn knight.

Arnaud
-
Nice! Always wanted to see these guys in plain armour, not gold. and infantry with this kind of shield! And the hair on the unicorn is a little different? :lens:
-
I'd love to see a jousting diorama with all these knights. :)
-
@Rhalius: yeah, me too! Unfortunately, I only have the knights, no background buildings, and almost no civilians! I think I could do a nice battle diorama some day, though knights didn't actually go to war with such rich caparisons.
Here are a few more older ones with new legs:
Sir Lancelot:
The Duke of Luxemburg (in his pyjamas!):

The Lion and St Andrew's cross Knight:

And a new, unfinished guy:

Yeepee!

Your figures were impressive before,

Absolutely stunning Arnaud!
-
They're gorgeous! Masterpieces! :wow:
Did I tell you sometimes when we notice, my sister and I are simply staring at the desktop, admiring the portuguese king and his trusted steed? (same desktop at work  )
-
Ah! The Lion and St Andrew's cross Knight looks magnificent!! All are excellent work Arnaud!!
-
As I have said before Arnaud, magnificent works of art, all of them ! Thank you for sharing these labor intensive finished projects with us :thanks:! Well done!
-
Atelier Cowabunga has entered an even higher level now.
btw arnaud please resent me the last email you sent me , i have a rather bad memory at times sir , please forgive me i just remembered now !!!!! :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

All of these look magnificent, Arnaud, especially with the customized legs! :knight:

Cool! I really like the caparison. If only Playmobil had made a white caparison for the various crusaders... :(
Also - is the only figure who has those legs (the white ones) the Arab warrior Special?
-
this last one is one of my favorite , with the design on the legs who feet perfectly ...
i think theses legs are only in the arab warrior but it's possible to buy only legs on ebay if you don't need the rest .
-
He looks great, Arnaud!!
-
i think theses legs are only in the arab warrior but it's possible to buy only legs on ebay if you don't need the rest .
:( I like the Arab warrior, but I also want some of those legs for my knights. And buying the legs by themselves is more money, it seems...
-
Another awesome custom !!!
-
Yep!
Only the Arab warrior has these white legs.
I have made several caparisons for the Crusaders. Check the early pages of this thread.
Best,
A.

The "intertwined" Knight (hope this name can't be interpreted wrong!):

A knight with no name, but probably German:

Another Ibelin knight, with full body chain mail:

A knight from Florence (Italy). The fleur de Lys should be a little more complicated, I'll make another someday...

Hope you like them!!

I reckon the knight from Florence is one of the best looking ones you've done yet, cowabounga! He and the intertwined knight are so elegant in their simplicity.
The "intertwined" Knight (hope this name can't be interpreted wrong!):
What did you mean by it? Just that the blue and white are intertwined with one another? I think it's an execellent name for him.
-
You keep doing it! Making the yellow colour look so good!!! Excellent new designs!!!
-
The "Ibelin knight, with full body chain mail" is... GORGEOUS.
-
These all look so good! :wow:
-
Beautiful and very individual customs! :)9
-
Superb creations again, Arnaud! 8-) 8-)
And nice to see a Flemish one among them! ;)

Jodoin de Beauvilliers
(http://i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx266/cowabounga/43e9fed8.jpg)

Hey! Currently I'm facing one (well, two actually) "booby" problem(s) with the female clickies…see what I mean?
Need to overcome this before I can make female knights!

 Great! I look forward to seeing it!

Excellent work Arnaud!!!!

Hey hey!
It's been (middle) ages since I haven't posted in this thread!
Here's the latest batch. I made another Red Raven knight with full dress, and added a hood to the scallops and checked coat of arms knight. Some new designs here too. Enjoy!

I'd love to participate in that too when it happens again, my clickies have been training hard for it. :)

I just looooooove the blue one
-
Great as always, cowabounga! :)
-
Wonderfull creations agan.
-
wowo , they all look great but my absolute favorite is the yellow lion on blue field!

-
hi Arnaud ,
very good job , your design are really good and you became good with photoshop !! Antioch is my favorite , your red eagle is perfect "not too much , not to less " i mean sometimes too much details and complicate design doesn't feet well with playmobil ; i think you make a good compromise between extreme minimalism , simplicity and too much details .
-
Beautiful custom Knights Arnaud!! I love your customized red lance from the new christopher Knight.I always wanted to try it but now i will do it! You cut the flag and then light sand paper, right?
Beautiful creations!!
-
Thanks Angelo! About the red lances: I can let you have some of mine, a German friend sent me 30 (!) for free.
-
I like the blue knight with yellow eagles best!
(Arnaud, I still have problem applying those tiny 10mm round transfers but I'm still at awe with how you apply those large sheets without damage :P)
-
I agree, with Cheng; the blue one with yellow eagles is outstanding and I like him best of all the recent additions, though they look all great as usual ;)
(where the Holy Hand-grenade was made!)
lol
-
Thanks Cheng and Hadoque, but I can't remember a blue horse coat with yellow eagles...
-
Thanks Cheng and Hadoque, but I can't remember a blue horse coat with yellow eagles...
sorry, I meant yellow lions ;D
-
OK! That's the one! Well, I thought it was pretty obvious this is a lion (you know, no beak, no wings) but I guess I leed to improve my drawing! ;)
I'm surprised Hadoque took it for a bird, since it's the same lion I used for the Flanders coat of arms. But, you know, we don't have good eyes anymore after 40! Ah, age…
Best,
Arnaud
-
I'm surprised Hadoque took it for a bird
I had an F-15 Eagle at my 6' during a training sortie earlier that day, so I got a bit confused ;)
-
 Did you do the "cobra escape"?
-
my excuse (for mistaking a lion for a bird) if I can cook up one :P
....confused by those mystical animals/birds....like chinese flying lions (not long dragons)....so its not my eyes but deteorating mind long after passing 40 :P
-
No excuse needed Cheng, you know it, of course! ;)
-

Since the stone-age theme was issued, I'd noticed those stag horns (woods?) and wanted to use them for a crest! Currently, the horns are set in place with wax, but I intend to mke something nicer, and cleaner.

Arnaud

Excellent work again, i like all of them.
Thanks a lot for sharing. :wow: :wow:
George. :)
-
Great customs. I like the colors of the bull/dragon knight. Brown and red, with yellow edges.
-
Amazing!! The last one is briliant!!!
-
there all great, but the barbarian is my favorite!
-
The one in red and blue is my favorite, do you plan to give him a barded horse too?
-
Great, as always! ;)

Arnaud
really very beautiful....their stickers and combinations
most of all, I love the customed helmet with deer antlers!
break another PM-customising rule...is it possible to drill helmet to secure the footing of the horns better? ..my klickies often fall off my shelves :P
(I have been thinking of putting a pair on a samurai helmet ;D)
-
@WoT: those antlers (thanks for the vocab. Cheng!) would fit perfectly on your Montbard knight, wouldn't they? ;)
@Cheng: there's already a hole in the helm. I will bore a hole in the base of the antlers and make a small post to connect the parts together. Don't know where I got this idea, any guess? ;)
-
@WoT: those antlers (thanks for the vocab. Cheng!) would fit perfectly on your Montbard knight, wouldn't they? ;)

Yes... Yes they would. ;D

Best,
Arnaud
-
Fantastic! :)
-
Fantastic designs again!!
Though I'm not so a big fan of the "gladiator"- and "Swanknight"-type helmets, like you used on the 2nd white knight...
-
So lovely!!!!
-
i still want them all , all of them    !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I love all of them.
Excellent work. congratulations.
Friendly George. :)

Those knights look great!
-
I think a pic with ALL and I mean ALL of your knight Sir Arnaud incuding all your latest creations would be awesome !!! I for starters would love to have such a high resolution picture and would frame it probably and/or use it for desktop wallpaper .
PS: I am in the process of framing some playmobil posters and some pictures of my Krull creation ;)
-
 I just can't do that, George, I lack horses. Most of my knights but the Knights of the Golden Fleece, are packed in small zip-bags with all their gear, helm, crest, shield, weapons, saddle and horse coat and hood. I intend to sell them in september at a Playmo gathering near Paris. I must make room… :(
-
I intend to sell them in september at a Playmo gathering near Paris.
When and where exactly sir ??? I have a business trip to Paris sometime for September to organise !!! ;)
-
Wonderful work Arnaud. I do not think you will have any trouble finding homes for them all.

Beuatiful knights as always Arnaud!
-
Your have so many amazing knights, I can not keep up! :o :wow:
-
Hey WoT!
Long time no see! How are you? I was wondering wether you'd left PF. It's nice to hear from you again. How's life in Texas?
-
It has been too long Arnaud, thanks for welcoming me back.
There is no way I am leaving PF any time soon. ;)
Life here is... very hot. But it isn't so bad, it is a lot dryer so there is a difference in the heat.
I am not sure how often I will be able to post, I just began some duel credit courses at the community college so I am really busy. But I am going to try visiting more often. ;D
It's good to be back! :)
-
I just began some duel credit courses at the community college so I am really busy. But I am going to try visiting more often. ;D
It's good to be back! :)
I'd think that was a mistake, but knowing you, that might be true! (http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Battle/sword-battle.gif) ;D :P
-
I missed the joke here. I had no idea what WoT was talking about in the first place. ???
Can anyone explain? Please?
-
He meant dual credit.
-
Still a mistery to me. I guess here the difference between being fluent and being native speaker.
-
Haha! Yes, I meant dual. 8}
Since I am still in high-school, the fact that I am taking college courses
counts for twice the credit I would get from a normal high-school course.
That is what dual credit courses are. :)
-
Ho, ho ho! <*)
It's been a while, once more! I have been busy as you know, perhaps.

Thanks all. I got the inspiration to make the Swan knight custom from a collector from Mexico. Actually, he wanted a horse coat for a second generation horse, but I made the knight for myself. :)

I'm beyond amazed with your new stickers and sticking ;)
-
You've been busy!
Wonderful knights Arnaud!
-
They look great. Wonderful creations, well done.
George.
-
Nice! Have you tried printing on the arms or shoulder pieces? You might be able to get a more effective tabard-look if you tried printing on the arms with a combination of shoulder parts. <*)
-
Well, either the typical cliky arms or the armored arms are too round to put a transfer upon, unfortunately. And the transfers would be too small to handle, either. The smallest parts I printed were for the neck of WW2 German officers' uniforms, and they were a pain in the neck!

They look very good - great combinations!
Where are the arms of the guy with the flag?
Is that the Joker spying? Don't remember if it's him.. :P

I think the arms are from some Dragon knights, I can't tell which right now 'cause they're all popped!
It's not the Joker up there, it's Two-face. ;)
-
Those look great Arnaud.
I've always assumed that heraldry line is a Griffin rather than a raven. The heraldry for the current falcon nights for instance is much less shaggy looking.
-
They look great!!! Well done Arnaud.
George. :)

Yes, looks from the dragon knights, but I can't place him.. Will look, thanks ;)
(I can't keep the characters straight :-[ )

Hi Arnaud , always a pleasure to watch your princess !! no seriously , really great design , the 2 head eagle is really wonderfull , the idea to make foot for the "yellow eagle" is very nice , it's exactly what geobra forgot (it seems we both like to repair what geobra forgot to do !! ) See you later jl
-
I just went through all 27 pages of your Knights customs Sir. I seriously think Playmobil should Knight you as Sir Playmobil Arnuad. You're hard-core Dude!
I'm wondering how you go about for the coat-of-arms decals? They look really original.

Hey buddies! Saddle up, we're riding again! :)

You did wonders with the wold and purple dragon knights!
-
Cool designs, Arnaud! :hatoff: :hatoff: :hatoff: Like always very well executed. Geobra should take these kind of coat of arms designs as a standard instead of those strange heraldic figures/colors they do from time to time.
-
....Geobra should take these kind of coat of arms designs as a standard instead of those strange heraldic figures/colors they do from time to time.
unfortunately for us historical buffs, Geobra is moving away from history to fantasy for our kids, look at those new Asian flags coming out, I'm sure they can easily design some Asian flags by looking at google images alone...its certain they are not thinking of Asian market, yet :-\
Arnaud...I still make mistakes with those tiny transfers you printed for my Asians, I marvel at how you manage to stick (its not patience alone...but skill) those large horse armour and those over the curved surfaces on the knights' legs! btw, those prints on your latest knights & horses are fantastic too!
-
Yes, I have noticed how accurately you place the stickers. VERY good work!!!
-
Beautiful!!
Great job again Arnaud.
Do i have to say that i want a few pairs from those full body transfers for my 3669 heraldry!!!
-
Nope. No need, Angelo! ;)
-
Hey buddies!
So we're back to this two years old topic because I need to present to you my holiday work. I didn't bring so much along so there are only a few new knights. Enjoy!

Of course the foxes. :) What did you call yours again? I remember it was a funny name.
-
The knight is Sir Cedric Foxworthy, his father is Lord Edwin
-
Brilliant work as always those designs so graphic and colourful they look really great photographed outside as well so natural :knight:
-
Hey!
I'm digging this old thread to present my latest knight. There's only one because I have been busy making hoplites and samurais all year!

Very nice sire, very nice , will be asking very soon Atelier Cowabunga for a couple more customs / salty characters of the world of Krull...... both to be yellow knight champions...... ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
A fine custom, as always, cowabounga! ;)

Gorgeous printing, excellent colours
-
I love his helmet.
-
A great knight, I'd love to see you use your knights for a story sometimes, or a diorama of a grand battle or such!
-
Beautiful. You should do a joust story some time.
-
He is very nice!!!
George. :)
-
Looking good very nice work on that intricate heraldry/coat of arms :knight:
-
Wow... really lovely work. I would not mind welcoming these fine flags in my court.
