...and I am not a fan of the new uniform. :hmm:
Nor do I like how they made the cross belts...
Well Warrior, I gave it a shot, this is the only cross belt I have left... I used the klicky from 5139 that has no printed cross belt on him...
-
oh I haven't realized that the crossed belts were printed.... that's terrible.
but well ... easily fixable... $$$ :(
-
That is much better. Really too bad that PM decided to go in this direction . . .
-
It is too bad, the figure looks quite nice with the real belts. :-\
Thanks for the photo Wolf Knight. :wow:

nice! now, save for buying direct from DS (which I've never attempted to do), seems my only recourse to have the ultimate redcoat army is to buy several 5139's and transplant all the straps from my old redcoats onto the strapless guy with painted accents.....
Then, what to do with the strapless old redcoats? I could paint/tape on some replacement stripes and use them as cannon fodder troops I guess.
Man I can't wait for the pirate theme to reach the USA
but it's still bothering me: black collar and yellow cuffs? i prefer if they were white too

They could at least be the same color! ::) ;)

they need a fashion designer i guess    ,no the colours fit ,and the printed belt is not bad ...i think it looks better than the old one in this torso ::)
-
unfortunatly i have to agree too...even tho i prefer those old X belts...but on this red shirt, they cover too much of the nice details :'(
-
the red on the new redcoats seems more ORANGE-red than the older redcoats. Almost the same colour as the puffs on the tricorns (btw, why are they puffs? they should be plumes!)
-
I wonder Sir wolf if not toomuch to ask can you take than klicky on the left with the added belt and put on him the old style redcoat hat ???? I have a feeling this klikcy will be spectacular !!!!
I want redcoats !! all you recent posts Sir Wolf have really brought me back the desire to buy lots of these !!!!

excellent !!! thank you sire !!!! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

Ok George, here you go! How does that look?
-
Nah, doesn't work :-\.
Covers too much of the painted details unfortunately.
-
I'm not George...
But in my opinion, very nice! :o
If I were collecting period English Redcoats,
A company, nay, a regiment of these would be in my hands in no time. :o :yup:

I disagree, I think it looks fine with the amount of detail shown. :-\
-
The shoulder belt would be ok, but two straps crossing look too much IMO.

Best klicky i have seen for ages, not sure if the white belts are ok with it , looks a bit too may items on him, BUT still one of the best klickies i have seen . Now i need 600 of them , 20 of the officers , 600 tall hats with feathers and 600 white belts, god i have fallen in love with those redcoats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...............
-
You need 600 of that custom klicky? thats gonne be tricky :-\ the crossbelts are not easy to find and they can get very expensive on ebay...
I also made an officer.. I dismantled the above soldier, as I have only one such torso, with non-printed crossbelts and made him into an officer.. I used the legs from the officer of the recent blister pack, 4127, which I like better than these short trouser legs .. I think I'll keep him this way...

No they have no individual part no. (at least one that is available to us)

Hence that poll option to be able to order that sort of thing - belts, earrings, beards, hair..

you got your answers George form Ds dad and tahra... :(

I have the same opinion. I've been experimenting with the new Redcoats past weeks, and like you I tried the "old" crossbelts on the one without printed crossbelts. Result: too much of the details of the uniform are hidden, it doesn't look well.
Best solution will be like the ones that come in Germany as add-ons (rest of Europe and world next year): just a simple white sworldholder across the chest and a sword or sabre in addition to the rifles.

you know I realised I have not expresse my personal view... I agree with cheng, Hadoque and others who support the new printed crossbelts... I like them a lot!!! :yup: :yup: :yup:
-
Great customizations, Panos! I had no idea that the crossbelts were printed....

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd offer my thoughts on these new redcoats.
I ordered and received a number of them from DS and I like them a lot, except that the stomach area looks quite bare. A waist belt would help this, but I don't have enough black ones to make this happen. It's a shame Playmobil didn't print a vest on them like they did with their French soldiers, as this would have made them perfect, in my opinion. I've been experimenting with them and have come to the conclusion that the old white cross belts obscure too much of the lovely facing printing, so I'm sticking with the white sword belts that came with them. I haven't decided if I'll put swords or bayonets in them. I've decided to customize them with black collars, as this looks better, in my opinion, and is more historically accurate. As for the color of these klickies, I'm glad to see that they're a true red, as opposed to the faint red that the old redcoats were. Now I have no use for my old redcoats. Would anyone want to buy or trade for them? :)
-
I am in the same situation. I ordered 6x new of the DS redcoats and the officer. I tore apart the older redcoats for the belts and cuffs. Now I have a box of the old red coat parts
-
The cross belt part is smething that I really like, and tried to use in other soldiers.
I have not bought any of the new add-on soldiers but I would like to get as many as possible.
