Oh, that's cool Cheng! How did you combine the bodies? Is that clay of some kind?

Nice job working with that new piece... I too am curious as to exactly how it was done

'cool' sure is the right word for him
and thanks both of you!
no clay/permanent sticky stuff
..I just used white what-you-call those 3M stuff as the top of his underwear showing :P

Cool....nice top of the underwear on Speedo Dad now that you mention it!
What is the white stuff by 3M used for? That would help us figure out what it is. Do you have the box handy to see what it is sold as?
Can tell that you have/had a teenage son!
You certainly have a creative mind, Pgal!

it could have been named 'Blu-Tac' but its white...maybe it was from Stabilo (not much left and the card with window thrown away long ago)
my son is still a teen but we never catch him topless so this is more like me on a hot day...but years before I've grown a tummy

OK the white stick tack, so he can get chopped in half if he isn't careful then :)

I know exactly the stuff you mean. I have some in my customs box right now, been using it to hold gift sop items on their shelves. Very simple way to customize, cheng! It has a very nice effect.

Cheng,
Very nice customs as usual! It is okay if you use yourself as a model....how convenient! Pgal

thanks PFs!
he'll have to be careful not to bend over when shovelling  ;D
as for me, I hope not to see a shirtless swimmer with a tummy ...altho its more realistic...PM should not be moving closer to the Ken&Barbie world  ;)

New ground broken yet again, cheng!  A wonderful custom and very cleverly done.

However, his CO is at fault for letting a redhead out in the sun like that - he'll suffer terrible sunburn!
Title: Re: my Englishman wearing a sun hat

Exactly! In Kuala Lampur, he will be fried in about 3 minutes being in the tropics. I once spent a week in bed unable to move after 2 hours on the lagoon in Truk wearing a hat, ss shirt and long shorts. My skin peeled for 2 weeks after that. Learned that lesson very fast!

What I like about this guy is that I have not seen any PM resembling him so far!!! You have just given the rest of us lots of ideas for new people. THANKS!
Way to go, Pgal!

@Tahra, I hope you mean a klicky  ;)
@thanks WK!
@Gordon, for a moment, I thought you meant red heads have more sensitive skin  :P
@Pgal, its not that bad in Kuala Lampur when we have good cloud cover
...Topless fair-skinned male klickies has been in my wishlist for years...cant wait to add them to my cannon crews, firemen, afrika korps, French Foreign Legionairs, Zulu-fighting Redcoat(less) defenders etc!  ;D

They do, cheng, redheads and fair haired people are far more likely to get sunburn than others.  It even applies to cats - our ginger cat gets sunburnt ears whereas our tabby cats never did.

Cheng,
Are you the guy who is buying all the Speedo Dads being made by PM? Someone somewhere  has figured out how...because PM never has any for sale. Who could the culprit be? My guess is that they could sell about a 100,000 more Speedo Dads a year if Malta could supply them.

IS ANYONE LISTENING?

Cheers, Pgal ::) ::) ::)

And yeah, what Gordon says is true... though I have brown hair, I am part Irish and take my skin complexion from that side of the family, and 15 minutes in the sun is enough to burn me, sometimes less on a really sunny day.

Bunga,
So my question is....what would you do with the other 99,700 or so of your order of 100,000 Speedo Dads? And would you charge an exorbitant price for the rest of us to buy ONE???

Somebody somewhere has to be hogging this guy, but I can't find him for sale anywhere. Is it the Mob in Malta? Anyone have a clue? I only need about 200 of them to get me going places. But being a generous person, I WOULD settle for a mere ten Speedo Dad's (a week for the next year!)

Yup, he's that cute....but please don't tell Hubby, Pgal!

so BB, youre a 'tabby' with 'ginger' skin  ;)

@WoT, yeh...just white tac and he'll break his back if he attempts to bend over to shovel

@tonguello, if speedo klickies are not available from DS, their sexier counterparts must have been even harder to get. I must not start collecting swimsuit klickies I must not start collecting swimsuit klickies I must not start collecting swimsuit klickies I must not start collecting swimsuit klickies I must not start collecting swimsuit klickies I must not start collecting swimsuit klickies I must not start collecting swimsuit klickies

@arnaud@cowabounga, ya I forgot about the spartans! no wonder its hard to get speedo klickies...they must have been quietly snapped up because I had no problem buying mine when they first came out  :)

@pgal, youve worked up my appetite to make more shirtless customs and now I regret not buying more...but I'm hoping they make more shirtless klickies like the tattooed new pirate!

Where does the typical British helmet from the soldier on the left come from? I suppose it is a custom?

bunga,
I figured you weren't, but was just testing the water! Any idea who is cornering the market on Speedo Dad? You can have your 200...it is fine with me. You sound like such an honorable man! And battles must be fought!!!

cheng,
Guess I'll have too look into pirates for the torso like Speedo Dad's. I do love the earrings those guys wear, too! But noticed they require a split head to wear the darn things, and it can be tough turning a pirate head into an adorable woman!

Any other source for the earrings besides my personal favorites, the Cafe lady and Nigerian orange dress lady at the train stop? They are no longer available, so the pickings are quite slim in the earring department. Hard to find pirate faces with beautiful features on some of the PM gals like eyelashes and pink cheeks!

If your hunky topless guy breaks his back when he shovels, get rid of the shovel! Replace it with two champagne glasses (30807342 at 35 cents each), a bunch of flowers for a cool lady or something a little more decadent that won't break his back. TTFN, Pgal

will get a cool lady for my english hunk and pass her the shovel  :P

I can spare you some earrings if you like but your ladies wont be wearing rouge and pencilled eye lashes  ;D

btw pgal..the tattooed pirates I refer to have normal torsos lke their darker skinned egyptian klicky brothers..so they'll be able to shovel when december cometh :)

The guy in this set has the earrings: http://collectobil.com/catalogue/items/3809.htm and this set isn't as hard to find as it used to be on ebay, at least if you aren't interested in MISB.

I can spare some earrings too, Pgal. I have some pirate klickies I bought for their white torso and never use the earrings. Sorry if this is a little off-topic.
Cheng is right, BTW, until now there aren't any new torso (like speedo dad) with tanned skin. Too bad!
Oh! And Pgal, I need 300 not 200. I was refering to the Battle of the Thermopyles, were 300 Spartans blocked the way of Xerces' army...and all died there!
Best,
Arnaud

bb: What an adorable set and Klicky! I need 50 of him!!!!

But what do I do with the 50 elephants? No room to parade them across the floor of our living/dining/breakfast and kitchen already crammed with PM. Any ideas? Pgal!

bunga,
Once we identify the Mob member controlling the supply (any hints here ANYONE)...

You can have your 300 Speedo Dads, but it does seem a shame to sentence them to an immediate death and burial in a stinking pit full of dead and decomposing gladiators. (Maybe it is better if you just toss them off the cliff to their deaths....waaaaayyyy down below.... like Tiberius did on Capri...we hiked all the way up that mountain trail two weeks before my right knee was replaced....I remember every step!)

Mine will be adored forever as they sit by the pool flexing their muscles. Rough life, ain't it!

Will email about earrings....THANKS!!! Pgal

bb: Great idea if we had the room! Wish the cute little trainer with the earrings was into a smaller pet like a frog, fish, puppy, cat or turtle!

Folks: Does anyone into the circus or zoo themes need a herd of elephants? Without the cute little trainer guy with earrings?

cheng: I just returned from 2 hours of cleaning up downed branches in the back yard and can identify with your Englishman in the sun hat! Have you had any experience cutting off the tab on the back of the soccer shorts and using the legs that move independently for anything? It would be great to have legs that could move in different directions. And they would look awfully cute on Speedo Dad mowing the yard or something in his sun hat of course! Pgal

Well, 300 Spartans and 1000 other Greek soldiers.
And that was only on the last day after the other 7000 Greeks left.
Still, a very heroic end. :)

cheng,
Great! So HOW did you cut the tab off the soccer players' shorts? Did it look okay or like they were totally unstable? (Hubby would love some hints before he totally mutilates my two soccer guys.)

If someone wants to make realistic looking films of moving Klickies, the legs have to move independently. And it would look a heckuva lot better if they could do that even when still.

Can't wait to see your Speedo Dad mowing the yard in socks and shoes!!! Have you got a PM lawnmower?

cheng,
So I am curious to know how you cooked you guinea pig for dinner?
In the South here, they eat all kinds of roadkill....things you don't want to hear about. I prefer to buy our food at the grocery store or farmers' market where I don't have to look at dead animal bodies hanging from high racks.  The first time I saw such fare was in Harrod's Food Court in London in the 70's. I felt sorry for the poor rabbits, geese, and other fowl hanging by their feet. I still eat them, but don't want to look at them hanging in a store even though I am sure they are much fresher that way. If it was the norm around here, it would be just fine.

Have you used your sawed-off soccer players in any scenes yet? These guys are very cute in their shorts; wish PM would do more guys in shorts. The little fellows must get awfully hot wearing long pants in the humid and hot summers. I do have a few in shorts from various water sets, but would love more variety.

Cheers, Pgal
