I recently bought a box of mixed bases from ebay and among them was most of the new harbour so I've jazzed it up a bit and created an ice cream shop with changing room above.

Is that a guy in a woman ponytail in the rowboat?
And that's sylvanian, right? The icecream cart? I really like your scenes ;)
-
nice little set up Emma!! Very summer cool atmospehre!!!
-
I really really like it, Emma! Great idea. That changing room doesn't look very private, though! :0 Love the guy playing the accordian.
-
 thanks guys, yes it's the sylvanian cart and no I don't think I'd bankrupt you with this, one of my houses maybe
Well got to give the men something to do while the kids get an ice cream :-[

Oooh it looks adorable :D I really love this set, so many possibilities!
-
What a great idea, Emma. That water looks so inviting!

Emma, how did you make the water? Is it just a printed paper?
It looks perfect.
-
Great display, Emma, just the thing for a sunny summer's day like today is here. And thast water looks really realistic and inviting. I second PrimusPilus's request for more information on it, please.
I've just bought the pier base from DS for my planned seaside railway layout and was thinking of adding the building as either a lifeguard/lost children office or a cafe. Your scene shows it will work OK.
BTW, "wynd" is a good Northern word you don't see or hear often other than in some parts of the North.
-
Excellent Emma! I love the idea! :wow: :wow: :wow:
It would be a really amazing hangout place in real life, it would. :yup:
(BTW Primus, I really like your Avatar now, you should keep it like that! :D )

What does "wynd" mean? :-[ I'm an American, I don't speak English!

It's an old-fashioned spelling of "wind" as in "Blow blow though winter wynd.." a song from Shakespeare's play "As You Like It" but in parts of North Yorkshire, notably Richmond, a wynd is a narrow lane in a town running between two properties.
In other parts of Yorkshire, it would be called a snickleway (York), or a ginnel (West Riding). A more general name is an alley.
Edit: However, I imagine that Emma is really using it as the old-fashioned spelling of wind.

really in love

He's on meds now and doing fine. Doesn't even howl at the moon anymore.

Yes, like Ensign, and Colonel. :P
-
That is so cute  The water looks so realistic!

Yes, like Ensign, and Colonel. :P
Ensign, a no longer used rank in the British army but was originally the standard bearer. Now refers to a flag, e.g. the Red Ensign.
Colonel, highest commissioned rank in the British army.

This is a lovely set-up with all the folks doing their things on a beautiful day. I am ready to jump in the water, too. Sounds like I will have lots of company!
Great use of the bases...it looks so real. Congrats on another fine build. Now if you could just do this for a living, life would be so nifty, wouldn't it! TTFN, Pgal

 Hello friends,
Oh Playmogal, yes I'd love to give up work and just build models but I'd have to win the lotto first. :prays:
The water is an offcut from a PVC sheet with tropical islands and a nice blue sky. I've used it before on my ship photos. It's just really nice and bright.
The man in the boat has his original SHORT hair not a womans pony tail but I can see what you mean. ::)
And I used Wynd simply as it was the only Harbour sign I had :-[ sorry I'm just not that deep.

Both me and my sister couldn't figure it out. Is there another pic in a different angle? Now I'm REALLY curious. Cause I can't recall a male hair like that in front... ???

Me neither... I can't think of any set with that hair on a male clicky. :eh?:

Ah, good. We were kinda thinking we were going nuts ;)

Yeah, I thought I was crazy. I've never seen a hair with bangs like that except the pony tail hair.
