Very clever and original Damo!

I think they are very neat, Damo. They look extremely heavy. I hope no Klicky toes were crushed beneath their weight! :o

Oh WOW I didn't realize how huge that road sign trailer is ... maybe it isn't overpriced like I thought... dang... now I'm probably going to buy that too... ;D Great setup, safety is very important when venturing outdoors. ;)

Very nice Damo!
Could that technique be used to make statues out of clickies? Can you explain how you made these, please?
Best,
Arnaud

ooh, I forgot to say how I made them :-[
Well first I removed the stickers, and gave them a rub down to give the paint a key.
I then used a stone effect textured spray paint on them, of about 6 coats. (only because I kept missing spots! :-[)
At this point, the hooks were masked, so after the stone was dry, I used some chrome (I wanted a more sliver/grey really) coloured hobby enamel paint applied by brush.
I think emmaj made a statue from this type of textured spray paint, and bonniebeth and Clong have both used a bronze paint to make statues as well.

Honestly, if you haven't said so, to me they looked like real concrete (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/hmm-1.gif).

yes the effect is amazing!
but what would these be for in real life? :-[

They are usually used on access roads where access is no longer needed, to stop people from driving in there, say at an empty factory site, or say, near us there was an old Mercedes dealership that stood empty for a few years and these were placed at the entrance road to stop vehicles getting in.
Next door to our house we have a large yard that is no longer used, and there is one of these blocks behind the gates to stop Gyppos from getting in and setting up camp.
Here is a pic of some square ones to stop travellers getting onto this field:

Basically, to stop travellers getting in any dis-used places is a good answer ;)

A great original idea, Damo, and excellently executed and photographed.
I, too, thought you'd actually filled them with cement and somehow coated them in the stuff too.

Now, there's an idea! - athough I'd have to fill the crane with concrete as well to stop it from tipping over!
