Hello all!
  Well my username says it all.. I'm a Dad and a big fan of Playmobil... In fact, before my wife and I had a child, we were purchasing Playmobil at different places and stocking up. We scoured store closings, TJMaxx/Marshalls and even purchased a few sets in '05 on our trip through Germany (Yes we did stop at the Fun Park, but it was February so we only visited the store). Recently I purchased a 4010 train set of off ebay.de and had my friend in Germany ship it to me...

  Now my son is 5 and he's got a create collection of Playmobil... almost all of it is city life, as he really loves that the best.. The train is in his room, he's got the school, fire trucks and tons of system-x parts. We build new buildings together, he loves it so much.. as do I! We've got the collectors catalog book and the "...started with a smile" book as well.. we love looking at them together and now we've joined here to get some ideas, tips and share our experiences.

  I'm also a part owner and editor for ToyCollector.com. We've got a working relationship with Playmobil and have Media credentials with them. Reviews coming up will be the new Mansion, two of the new Christmas sets, Secret Agent Head Quarters and the Robo Gang Truck.. I just haven't had time to take them out and review them yet, and we have some new people joining the review team this year.

I've been a member of Toy Collector for a while. They still don't seem to have reached the necessary critical mass to really make things go except in the vehicles section.

Tiermann - yes TC started w/diecast. However we've purchased a number of other websites including wings900.com, hobbytalk.com, scale600.com, diecastaircraftforum.com and a slew of others, some of which are still in the works. You'll see changes in the future as the site grows.

Welcome from Belgium, Todd - PlaymoDad! I'm new here myself, slowly catching up with all the threads and it's really worth the effort  :) I've found a bunch of amazing pictures & stories as well as helpful advice on customing, photographing...

Is it the new mansion 5302 that you are about to review? I bought a few days ago. It took quite some time getting all the red and yellow click-things in the right place and I don't really like the little holes in the walls and floors, but over all it looks great. That doorbell sound is a wonderful touch, in my opinion  :love:  I'm interested to find out what you think of it.

It sounds great that your wife and son share your enthousiasm for Playmobil  ;D

Birdie - yes that is the new mansion we are going to review..5302. Our main concern is that it comes with nothing. Understood this one is more of a doll house and people may have furniture/fixtures to add to it already, but personally i'd like to see something a tad smaller and include some other items with it. It is nice to see a more modern dollhouse, one that is less classical/turn of the century like.
